How about a new twist the to FE saga? What happens to the FE cabin list if someone upgrades at the port and they move to a new cabin? How do all of the rest of us find out where to deliver their items?

By the way, I can't remember if I mentioned this, but I like the idea of keeping the list at 20 and cutting it off to another list of 20, and then another, etc.

I'm the least crafty (arts-wise ;)) person on earth but I plan on starting to create my masterpieces today. Wish me luck!

The majority of people in the FE have PM'd me and expressed the same idea. The would like the FE to be kept to a manageable number. So it looks like I will cut it off at around 15-20 per group, depending on how many we get. I am going to look at the numbers towards the middle of Feb., since the cut off is 3/1. Another suggestion I got is for families that are traveling together but in seperate rooms to be put in different FE's so that they are not exchanging with each other. What do people think about that?
The change in cabins numbers can be tricky as Deb T. has told me. The way that is handled is the the person whose room is changed needs to let me know very quickly the first day with a note in my FE. Then I can post the change on a white board that I will have hanging on my door. Then people will need to come by my room sometime later that day to check the door for any changes. An idea I just thought of, since we are going to have atleast two separate groups is that maybe someone can volunteer to be the leader of group 2. I will continue to organize the FE but if someone in group 2 can be the leader that will coordinate changes, etc. That person would have the list of people assigned to their group and then any changes in their group would come to them and they would post the changes. That way I am not responsible for disseminating info to both groups. Did I mention that I have not informed my husband of our participation in the FE nor the fact that I am organizing? :scared1: :scared1: :rotfl: :confused3 :rotfl2:
Let me know what you all think!!
Have a good day today. It is way to warm in the Northeast, my son was able to go outside for a run this morning instead of using the treadmill in the basement. He is prepping for endurance day the end of March, since his is eligible to test for his First Degree in Tae Kwon Do the end of April. If you see someone on the ship practicing forms, kicks, etc., probably will be my son! The test is 2 weeks after the cruise! :scared1:

We are so excited! For the FE, our travel group includes right now 5 participating cabins.
My cabin, me, DH, DD(10), and DS(8)
Cabin #2 my DD(13) (the Bat Mitzvah girl) and her 3 (13 year old) friends
Cabin #3 my parents
Cabin #4 my friend, her DH, DD(11), DD(9)
Cabin #5 my friend, her DH, DD(9), DD(6)

We are all on the 9th deck.
Michelle

What info do you need for me to PM you to join the FB page?

You need to PM me your Facebook name and then one of the members in the group will add you as a friend and then add you to the group. You have to be a friend of one of us in order to be added to the group. Facebook no longer allows you to add people to a group through email.
D73 - cc053103 (Courtney) should be adding you as friend and then after your confirmation, will add you to the group.

Hope this helps!
Debbie

My DH and 2 DS (11 & 12) and I are going to enjoy spring break on our first cruise. We are a little nervous about Castaway Cay and having to fight for the chairs, leave our stuff on the beach, etc. We tried for a cabana but when we logged in there was nothing left...
If anyone have any tips we about the beach we would love to hear them.
Looking forward to being on the ship and hopefully we will meet some wonderful folks from the DIS Boards.

Please don't be nervous. CC is paradise! Truly, heaven on earth! The water is a beautiful tropical clear/light-turquoise color and if we're lucky there will be a light breeze the day we're there. The BBQ lunch is delicious, too! And the shops sell exclusive CC items that you can't buy anywhere else, not even on the ship!

We've been there 10 times (one surprise double-dip!) and only had an issue once with chairs when a couple pushed our belongings onto the sand on Serenity Bay while we were eating lunch at the Air Bar, even though there were plenty of other available chairs. :confused3

The best strategy is to go as far down on the family beach as possible because fewer people will venture down that far. :thumbsup2 You could also plan to take one large tote bag or backpack that everyone can take turns hauling around. :cool2: Don't worry about packing beach towels because they will hand you as many as you want when you step off of the ship.

So whats the story on bringing wine on the ship? If we want to bring our favorite bottle or two do they charge you a cork fee if we want it at dinner?

Current policy allows alcohol to brought onto the ship as long as it is in the carry on bag. If it is placed in the bag that you hand over upon arrival at the peer, they may open your bag and confiscate it. It would then be returned at the end of the trip. It is mostly to avoid breakage of the bottle during handling of your bag which could lead to damage of other's belongings as well.

Any personal alcohol is not permitted to be consumed in the lounges or public areas.

Yes there is a cork fee of $20 as well if you bring the bottle to the dining room.

All this can be found at herehttp://disneycruise.disney.go.com/faqs/beverage-policy/alcohol-policy-onboard/ if you prefer to see it from Disney themselves.

Awesome, thanks for the quick response, I need my wine, what can I say!

Understandable. Since coming to Europe I have become accustomed to having wine with my meal as well. So if you need a table mate!;)

Have you looked at the Wine Packages that are offered on the ship to see if there is something to your liking on the menu? It might be more economical for you.

Agreed ... not much to worry about on CC, regarding your items. Our strategy in the past has been for a member of our party (me) to be on deck one just prior to disembarkation on CC. I then sprint ahead (faster than taking the tram) and grab a hammock. The rest of the family comes along shortly afterwards.

Hey VA mouseman, I was planning to walk leisurely to the beach, but now my competitive nature wants to race you to the hammock (and possibly trip you *accidentally* in the process)!:rotfl2:

Guess we are going to have to head to the end of the family beach and find a place in the sand. :woohoo:
Looking foward to watching the Chariot's of Fire Races with the DISBoard Crew.

This competitive spirit for good hammocks on CC reminds me .... there's usually a 'fun' 5K on CC for each cruise. Pretty sure it uses the airport landing strip on the island, which I believe is part of Gorda Cay's former "drug running" island history.

OMG! I laughed out loud and then got very strange looks from DH & DS!!

:rotfl::rotfl2::rotfl::rotfl2:

Good One! :thumbsup2

OK so I have seen a number of threads about who will be sailing on the Spring Break Frenzy cruise... Just wondering for those folks who have posted and those who have sailed before.... with 4000 on the ship can you really find someone who has posted on the boards??

Just wondering if someone else has kids the same age as mine 11 & 12...Some one to hang with at the EDGE. pirate:

Yup! :thumbsup2 It is pretty amazing, but true! First of all, people become familiar with each other while "chatting" on the "Meets" thread. Then, usually a Meet & Greet is set up onboard on the first afternoon, which puts faces to DIS names. Then, it's pretty incredible how often you will run into these same people throughout the cruise! :goodvibes

Funniest experience we ever had: While on the '07 Med cruise, DH and I were walking around Marseille, France, when all of a sudden from a distance we hear someone yelling "Hi Deb T.!" We looked around to see another DISer we'd met during the Meet & Greet and her family waving to us from a little sightseeing train heading down the street! :rotfl:

Deb T.
thanks for the quick reply and for posting some great tips. We are looking foward to meeting the folks on the boards... as I know we are all Disney Junkies. Can't wait for the kids to get a load of the ship and the beach.. they are going to LOVE it.

Hope to see you there...
