>> April 1, 2012 - Disney Dream Spring Break Frenzy! <<

Checked the room availability of our 2012 cruise today and the only non-concierge room available is 4a at $4100!!!!!

I also noticed that it is now listed as an alternate itinerary. Checking further it appears as though the castaway cay day and sea day have been switched meaning this cruise will be Nassau-Sea Day- CC instead of the standard Nassau-CC-Sea Day.

Hi Monie, glad to meetcha!!

We hope to book this date very soon. It will be our FIRST cruise!! :woohoo: Even better, will be our 5th anniversary celebration :cloud9: , so it's just me and DH (Cindy & Randal).

We're WDW junkies, so we want to book a day on property before & after the cruise as well. We just haven't decided yet which resort. :confused3

I'l bookmark this link, and keep following along. :surfweb:

Hey again!

Sad to say we had to reschedule, so take Cindy & Randal off the list for 04/01/12. :sad1:

But happy to say that we are now confirmed on the 04/29/12 sailing!! So it'll be a combination Anniversary + Birthday celebration. :cool1:

Hope to meet up with y'all another time & place. Have fun next Spring Break!!

Hi all!! I am from GA also. Right outside of Atlanta near Stone Mtn Park. We are heading on the April 1, 2012 cruise. This will be DD7's (at the time) first cruise. DH and I went on the 7 day western carribean back in 2003 for our 5th anniversary. We can't wait to go back again.

HI, Everyone! We are excited to be going on our first cruise on the Dream! We will be DH, DW, DS (12) and DD (9). Please add us to Role Call!

Hey all!
I just got back from the 4/17/11 Dream cruise and we rebooked on the cruise for this cruise next year. We were in a category 4A (Deck 10) this time with five people - my parents, little sister and my son. My DH wasn't able to join us this year, but we included him for 2012! So we booked the same 4A room for next year w/ the adjoining cabin. In one room will be me - Deb(42), DH (43) and DS 9 (10 for the cruise). In the other cabin will be my parents and little sister (8 for the cruise). Yes, I have an eight year old sister! We loved the Dream cruise - parts of it were frustrating but overall we had a wonderful time. This was our first time cruising, so we didn't have any previous experience to compare it too. If anyone has any questions, let me know...
I am a WDW addict and probably need a 12 step program. During this past trip we went to WDW for the two days following cruise. I purchased AP's for DS and myself. We are headed back to WDW in two weeks, DH will purchase his AP then. We have another trip planned for WDW Thanksgiving week with family (20 of us). Hoping to convince DH to add WDW after this cruise, since our AP's will still be active.
Looking forward to getting to know all of you. My last cruise meet thread was very active and our FE was HUGE! Don't know if I'll participate again...kids really enjoyed it though!

Hi Angela, drthies & Debbie

I'm so glad y'all are cruising and decided to join the thread. I had reservations on the 4/3/11 Dream but had to, sigh, cancel. Like Debbie mentioned, that thread was incredibly active, along with a mango rum run group and the extensive FE list. Now that they're back they seem like the FE was great fun.

Debbie - prepare yourself for a lot of questions about the Dream. I've only been on 1 cruise myself, the Wonder 2/10, and am very excited about this new ship.

Have a great week everyone.

I'm prepared to answer questions... fire away...
Like I said before this was my very first cruise and I think DCL was the best choice by far! I learned a lot from this cruise and know that next year will be even better!!

Today I started feeling like the cruise is so far off that it'll never get here so I made reservations for the Comfort Suites on Paradise Island. From everything I've read, we get wristbands for Atlantis this way for a much lower price than doing the DCL excursion.

Hope you're all having a nice weekend.

Nancy

Yeah, the cruise still feels like a long way off ...

We actually stayed on the Magic when we were in Nassau on our last cruise. Too much to do on the ship!

But, I have heard of your strategy of wristbands for Atlantis. Not sure if we're going to explore Nassau and get in some extra time on the Aquaduck on our cruise. Lots of time to think about it.

On our last cruise (on the Wonder) we got off in Nassau and explored. Disappointing! This time we plan on staying on the ship to play but I have until the week before we sail to cancel the reservation without penalty so I figured why not! By reserving now it only comes to $81 each for a wristband.

We are going on this cruise too!!! It will be our first cruise ever. We are very excited. We are big Disney fans!! This is my first post on this board. I joined a long time ago but never posted anything. I look forward to seeing who else will be on this cruise. We have extended family going on this cruise also. We will be celebrating my in-laws 50th wedding anniversary and my son's birthday (April 1).

Welcome aboard!

We had our first cruise ever (DCL of course) in 2005 and it was an amazing experience. The April 2012 cruise will be our fourth. It's killing me to have to wait that long for it.

My two boys are excited about the Dream and hope to enjoy the AquaDuck a few times.

We'll also be sailing with extended family: my in-laws, my SiL and her family and a few other friends. The more the merrier.

We are taking kids on their first cruise DS 9, DS5, DD5.

We rebooked on this sailing as soon as they started booking 2012. We were originally scheduled for this November, but I went back to work (teaching) last fall and can't take a random week in November off. So we are stuck on this spring break date. Happy about the cruise this date, just thinking if we do Disney post cruise, it is the Thurs-Sun of Easter. We generally go to Disney off peak.

I have the Hampton Cocoa Beach booked the day before, waiting for Disney reservations to be avail for post cruise. Anyone know when these rates come out.

In 2003, we ported in Nassau and did book a hotel in order to go to Atlantis for the day and it worked, will have to look into that again, will look at the shore excursions for kids, keeping in mind what we can do at the private island to make it varied.

Not sure what cat we have booked, I know we have a family room, think it something with an 8, not sure if it is cat 8 or floor 8.

Disney should release rates for April '12 in August. We just did the same vacation Spring Break 2011. We did the 4 night dream followed by Thursday to Sat at Disney. Disembarking the Dream is so easy - we were off the ship and on our way to Disney by 8:30am. We did Epcot on Thursday and MK on Friday. Didn't do any park on Saturday as we were beginning our trip back to MD that day. I didn't find the parks to be any more crowded than summer or Thanksgiving break. I follow TGM's touring advice which is very similar to Easywdw.com... We were able to do everything we wanted to do! I also enjoyed the weather, it was really nice during the day - hot but not humid and it cooled off at night. Really nice for touring the parks after dinner.

Quick note to let you all know that I am leaving your group. I may however, lurk for a while and answer any questions I can about the Dream and Spring Break since we just did it. But we found out that my sister's school changed her Spring Break for next year, instead of being the week before Easter it is now the week after Easter. So the schedule does not coincide with my son's...we are trying to think of an alternative timeframe. Just going to keep this booking as a dummy date until we pick a new time frame. DH knew I was so disappointed that he told me we could still take a trip to Disney for the week, so not really that upset!!!

Debbie

I know I am VERY late in the game :confused3

How can I be added to the April 1st Cruise Meet? I have been trying to post, but keep getting the error I am not allowed.

This will be the 2nd Disney Cruise for my familiy. It has been 10 long years since our first.

It is still too long for the cruise, and I would love to connect with fellow Dissers.

Welcome to the group! We're a small group but we've had some growth over the last month. This is my family's second cruise also. We were on the Wonder last year and we can't wait until spring break next year to do it again!

Nancy

WhoDat....how do you get that cruise countdown pin? I would love it!!

Just click on someone's countdown pin and it will take you to the link and walk you through how to create it. It is very simple to do.
