>> April 1, 2012 - Disney Dream Spring Break Frenzy! <<

I have a question...I see online (Disney website) that you can pre-order photo packages. Does anyone know what the prices for photos (6X8 and 8X10) are once on the ship? We were on the Dream last year, but were on the cast member sailing without our kids, and never looked into buying photos since we didn't take a lot with the photographers. I know I'm going to want several on this trip, so wondering if I should do some pre-ordering to save money. If anyone can remember what they cost onboard, please share! :)

We sail 50 days from today - woohoo!!! Just made my Magical Express ressies for the park/airport legs. So much to do...gotta get busy! :yay:

Never mind! I found my own answer...I just posted here before I really tried searching myself... :rolleyes1:

It looks like the packages are they way to go. It also appears as though you can just get them once onboard, and they will upgrade you if you buy more, or refund if you buy less. Sweet! :thumbsup2

So what is the difference between the Ocean Lab & Ocean Club? Is it just different activities and different themes?

You are correct. They used to be designated for two different age groups, but now all kids ages 3-12 can chose from a wide variety of activities offered in both the Lab and the Club.

Will we have wireless Internet on the ship? Do I need to order a package for the trip, or is it free?
Thanks, Amy

The good news is yes, they do have wireless internet. The bad news is you have to pay for it. The worst news is that the connection is painfully S-L-O-W. You can borrow laptops from Guest Services for an hour at a time (the Wonder and Magic have nice little Internet Cafes, but for some reason, they didn't put one on the Dream).

You can pay by the minute (most expensive) or pay for a package. You don't receive a refund for unused minutes.

Count us in for the Dream! We are...

Me (Tonya, 3rd grade teacher)
DH, Scott
DD (13)
DS (10)

We are DVC members and staying at Vero Beach pre-cruise. We have a guarenteed cabin for this sailing, so we dont even know where it is yet!

Looking forward to the DIS meet. Our kids are excited to make friends early on the cruise!

We are in also. Looks like we live really close to the last poster.
It's me and the DW, DD (6) and DS (2). We did the Dream last year and enjoyed it so much decided to make it an annual affair. Coming in the day before and staying at the MCO Hyatt. Can't hardly wait.

Welcome aboard, Hoosier families!

Tonya, have you checked your reservation on the DCL website lately? GTY cabins should be assigned any day now, if not already. Here's Pixie Dust that you get a fabulous cabin! pixiedust:

kindman, it's good to see another experienced Dream cruiser! :goodvibes We did a B2B on the Dream last year over spring break and loved every minute of it!

Thanks Deb T, kids are definately excited. The DD is at least, our son is little enough he just gets pumped to go anywhere. We traveled last time when he was less than 2 so if anyone is going with young ones and needs some tips feel free to ask. We definately learned a few things traveling with a youngster and are doing a few things differently this time. It was obviously a great experience and we are counting down the days.

Hi micks,
Welcome! I am part of a party of 30 which includes four 13 year old girls as well as my 8 year old son (named Scott!) who looks and acts 10 so we will definitely be looking for you on the ship.

Welcome to all of our new arrivals to the board. This is going to be a great cruise. I can feel it.

I know there was discussion of when to have the initial meet up on embarkation day but has anything been finalized?

Also have ust been thinking of some things that might be helpful to know if we want to have additional meets along the way for things like shows or night cap drinks.

Do we know who is on main seating and who is on late seating? I know we will be split into seperate dining rotations but a pre-dinner drink may be of interest to some.

Perhaps for Night Caps we can set up a rotation through the 4 main lounges of the District so it is easier to find others. For example April 1 at 687, April 2 at Pink, April 3 at Skylines and April 4 at Evolution.

Just suggestions. I know many are traveling with their own larger groups on board and will have obligations but perhaps others may enjoy a little socializing throughout the cruise.

Thoughts?

Christopher

All these Hoosiers...I'll assume at least some of you are college basketball fans, hopefully there will be a good crowd watching the Final 4. (not that IU will be there) As a die-hard Marquette alum, I'm hoping Tom Crean's only final 4 was the one he earned in Milwaukee!!

More Indiana families! I grew up in Carmel but I've been away from there for over 20 years. I get back once a year these days.

Thanks for the warm welcome!

This will be our 2nd Disney cruise (did the Wonder a few years ago), but our 5th cruise in all. We love it as much as the kids do!

DD will be thrilled with all of the teen girls! She is excited to meet new friends :)

I check our reservation EVERY day to see if we have a cabin assignment, but nothing yet. We have our fingers crossed for an upgrade. Right now, we are guarenteed in Cat 9A so we'll see!

We are definitely college basketball fans! I am Hoosier born and bred, DH is a transplant from the Chicago area. He went to IU for undergrad and we both have IU grad degrees. We are loving this turn-around season!

Counting down the days now that the Super Bowl is over. Can't come soon enough!

I will add you all to the Roll Call.

Welcome to the Spring Break Cruise. :welcome: We are coming in the day before too but staying at the Marriot near MCO and then taking Happy Limo to the port. Are you taking Disney transport to the port?

I could always add dining seating to the roll call if people wanted to update me. Or we could start a list of Main Seating and Late Seating...so that people can connect.
I like the idea of a designated area for a night cap. I am travelling my DH this time and have a connecting room with my parents. I will be able to take advantage of trying out the lounges. Christopher - put it together!! :cheer2:
Does anyone think the beer mug is worth it? Was going to get it for DH- maybe can pull it together by tomorrow for Valentine's Day.
