We are visiting disneyland Apr 4-6. But is this a super busy time? Especially with a 4 year old? Is it spring break? Is May 3-5 a better time to visit? I can still change my reservations if I need to.
Thanks

Yep, the first few weeks of April are considered Spring Break and the parks are very crowded. The good news is that hours are longer and there are fireworks and Fantasmic on the weekdays.

I agree that early April will be much more crowded than early May. I'd guess with a 4 year old that you wouldn't be staying at the park for the extended evening hours anyway, and would definitely recommend going in early May instead. Of course, you may miss Fantasmic and the Fireworks by going during the week at that time. It's all a trade-off!

April is madness. It's almost like Christmas, they will close the park around 11am and not let anyone in the park know it is closed. Later on when the handstampees come back they will not let them in. This has been a big problem and I believe there is a post about that subject too. The best time to go to Disney is March, May, and September. The weather may be good or not but its less crowded. I've been going to Disneyland every year, I mostly go in june the day school lets out for kids, the park usually does not get packed till 3 days after that. It's a perfect window to have fun then relax the last 2 days of our 5 day trip.

I would go in April because the 50th celebration ends at the start of May so i would choose April but it really is up to you :)

I had planned for April for the kids get in free but also changed to the 1st week of May better for all because we will celebrate my sons birthday.
Shorter lines are far better then fireworks for our kids. :earboy2:

I went in April 2 years ago (with my then 2 year old) and it was hell. We went on April 8th (her bday) and by the time we left I wish I hadn't bothered to try and spend her bday there. It was so crowded! The lines to get on almost every ride were at least 20-40 minutes long. That's so hard on toddlers. I know that I personally will never go in early April again. So obviously I'd suggest May. :)

BTW... the 50th Anniversary runs through Nov. I believe so I wouldn't let that be a factor.

Is March really a quiet time over there? :confused3 We have Spring break in March. I've never been to DL, but we've always avoided Florida in March due to the crowds. Just wondering... planning a trip for next year or the year after.

Actually, the 50th runs through Sept 30. Early March isn't too bad. Just don't wait for late March as many spring breaks start then.

I've now changed my plans from April to first week of May. The fireworks and Fantasmic happen on weekends anyways right? I have a 3 day park hopper, so i was thinking a Wed, Thu, Fri. or would thu, fri, sat be better? Help, I'm so confused!
