I know I need to change my forum name to CaptainOverthinksIt or something.

Anyway, is there a major difference in weather between an Eastern Caribbean itinerary leaving Apr 13 vs Apr 27? I know that May is listed as rainy season for most of the ports, but I also know there's not some switch that gets flipped when the calendar turns to May. We might want to tack a day or two at a park on, and going on the earlier sailing would mean we'd have to do the parks on the end, and we'd rather do them at the beginning. Esp given how all of us got a cold toward the end of our last cruise. It was nice to just be able to go home.

Work is marginally better for me to go on Apr 13 but only slightly.

I would not go on a cruise the week before or after Easter. This year, the week before Easter, the fantasy had 4200 guests. The week after had 4500 guests. The next week had 3200. Our head server said the two cruises with 4000+ passengers were nuts.

Looks like Easter is 3/31/24, so OP should be good with either April date. It shouldn't affect you too much, but Massachusetts schools have 4/13-4/21 off for April vacation (for Patriots day.). Not sure if any other New England states have it off as well.

I would do the later one. We have one of the latest spring breaks and we're the week after MA.

The cruise leaving on the 27th, even if full, will not be jam packed with everyone on school break.

I was on that sailing last year and we did experience rain over the ocean but not at the ports. I've sailed early and mid april and have experienced rain during those times as well.

Thanks for all the input! We chose the later date, mainly so we could do a day or two in the parks before rather than after.

I'm booked for the Eastern Caribbean cruise on the Fantasy for the week of April 13th - April 20th, 2024. The way I feel about which week is, it's six of one and half a dozen of the other. Both cruises are going to be 4k total of people on the ship. I'm also not really worried about which regional area is going to be on break; either date is going to have some spring break. I'm only saying this for me only. Every person is different.
