This is the first time I will be buying a seat for my 2 1/2 year old daughter on our flight next month. How do I know if our car seat is FAA approved? I haven't looked yet but would it say so right on the car seat or in the manual? Please advise how I can find out. Thanks to everyone in advance.

There would be a sticker on it stating it is FAA approved. The flight attendent would look for that sticker if there was any question on using it onboard.

Great thanks for the quick response. Love this board :) I will double check the sticker when I go out to the car.

The sticker does NOT mention the FAA. The wording is Federally mandated; it will have red lettering, and say, "This restraint certified for use in motor vehicles and aircraft."

Normally the sticker will be on the outside side surface of the shell, or perhaps on the back or bottom of the shell.
