Is it ok to wear midriff tops and almost-minis (of the Skort not skirt variety) at WDW? I don't mean nearly bikini height but a couple inches above my navel...I have these tank tops but they are more comfortable folded up under a couple inches in the heat but at the same time i am worried about offending people. (and i don't mean the very conservative i realize i am bound to offend someone somewhere simply due to belief systems. I just mean the general population)

If the date listed in your ticker is correct (April), I would not think the heat would be so unbearable that you'd have to do that. It would not be my choice, but I have seen people dressed that way.

i don't believe that the heat will be unbearable either but i know that i tend to be extremely sensitive to temperatures both hot and cold so i never know *especially coming from nice COLD toronto* i am sure it will seem warmer to me than the average person even scotland in march seemed warm to me. and as i said it wouldn't be more than a bit above the navel (and i don't have the body for low riders so my bottoms always cover almost to my navel...far too self concious for otherwise) thanks :confused3

Sounds like you'll be alright, then. There is so much else to look at there instead of what others are wearing so I don't think anyone will notice unless you really stand out.

Have fun! :)

I say wear it. People are going to be walking past their resort pools and see people in a lot less than what you are wearing. Wear whatever makes you comfortable! :flower:

I have actually seen people walking around the parks in bikini tops and shorts.

As you have already heard, I don't see it as being a problem. So long as you are earing things to be comfortable, people shouldn't worry about it. I don't like when I see people dressed in skimpy clothes that look more like they are heading to a club then a park. But what you described sounds fine! Enjoy and be comfy! Have a magical time... :earboy2:

I don't really see a problem with it.

I've seen women walking around wearing REALLY innapropriate stuff, like skimpy bikini tops, shirts they were falling out of, and shorts that were riding up their bottoms.

How that can be comfortable is beyond me...

It really sounds like what you are describing is a normal outfit.

Just be prepared to be FREEZING in some of the restaurants & shows. They crank the AC up like it's 100 degrees out all the time. So I'd bring a light sweater just in case. ;)

If that is comfy for you! Don't be self concious though and keep tugging on it! So many young girls show the tummy, and half of them look like they are uncomfortable by the way they keep adjusting.
Wear it if you wear it well!
You'll have a great time if you are comfortable, and no one will think you are dressed inapropriately!
Enjoy! :cheer2:

One trip we saw someone dressed in really high heels a mini skirt and what looked like a bikini top. My only thought was "how does she walk around the park all day in those shoes!?!" :rotfl:
Wear what you like and be happy!

If the shorts aren't so short that your "cheeklettes" are sticking out and your top keeps the important parts secure, I say you're fine to wear what you're suggesting.

I typically wear shorts with about a 3 inch inseam and basic t-shirts to the parks but I don't go in the heat of summer.

"cheeklettes" :rotfl:

That is too funny. I second that. As long as your privates are covered and you are comfortable.

I have to agree with everyone eles, as long as you are happy and comfortable then why should you have to worry about what everone else is thinking about you, unless you havr the ablility to read peoples minds I dont think youll know anyway. Most peopel that don't approve of what someoen is wearing will not approch them and say anything, so Go Have fun and enjoy you will be at tha happiest place on earth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thanks everyone for alleviating my concerns. I just had this momentary flash of OMG!! Did I buy appropriate clothes??? (had to restock my summer clothes :P)

Sounds fine just don't wear BadShoes :rotfl2:

I guess my wife must be one of "those" people. When we are there during the summer months she wears a bikini top and shorts most of the time. It's a matter of comfort. If it's 99 go-zillion degrees out with 150% humidity and someone is put out by a bathing suit top, sorry. Better a good tan than heat stroke.

Not to hijack the thread, but does Disney turn people away who are dressed in ripped up jeans? My 17 year old DS has some jeans that he loves, which have several slashes around the knees, etc. In my youth, going to DL, they were fairly strict about the clothes worn into the parks. I'm just wondering about this, since he won't wear shorts anymore. TIA! :sunny:

Trust me, if they are not turning away some of the women in hoochie mama outfits, and the men wityh pictures of half nude women on their shirts, they certainly are not going to be concerned about some tears in jeans. ;)

Thanks, EsmereldaX! I guess you're right. Now if I can keep him from walking into a post while he's checking out the girls in their creative outfits, we'll be just fine! :goodvibes
