Hi All,

I saw this in another thread, but feel it needs a reminder of it's own that stands out.

When contacting Disney, it is best to speak from your heart, where the passion sits. Going in with guns blazing will only cause the recipient to shut down.

You have to view this from a Corporate stand-point and then plan your approach. If we contact them screaming about how much we spent on movies and pirate pins, they will most likely read the beginning of the letter and then hit delete.

Disney Corporation knows people are upset and they expect this type of reaction. The Corporate approach would be how many people purchase movies vs how many codes are redeemed on DMR for virtual items. The Corporate approach is how much money is spent on pirate pins with codes vs how much money is spent on pins with no codes. All of this is taken into calculation with how much they make vs what they pay all of the staff employed, dealing with the childish behaviour in the game and the complaints on forums such as this plus the lack of capacity on their servers. I am sure they have been doing this for the last 6 - 12 months. I have no doubt that this is why Seth left. ;) He was moving on because the plan was to close VMK.

Disney Corporation knows that nobody goes to WDW and spends $3K - $10K on a vacation just to get virtual codes. What they do not know is that to many, VMK is more than a game. It is more than a place to collect virtual goodies. It is a place of enjoyment where families and friends meet and where we go to WDW when finances and work will not allow us.

Contacting them with a complimentary introduction, followed by why you love the game and want to see it stay open will go a lot further. I am not trying to be mommy to anybody, but I know that yelling and being mouthy in a letter will get us nowhere.

Happy writing!!

agreed, must show respect even if your overall tone is negative. Anger will only reinforce their feeling they did the right thing!

This is so true. I have worked with the public for many years. When someone gets pushy and nasty and tries to intimidate me it makes me want to help them LESS. Those who state their case clearly and politely will get much further.

Here is an email and phone number for VMK that I was given to use

vmk@disneyonline.com and 407 566 4421 Please be nice when calling I know you are all upset but it will be better if we are polite.
