when should i apply for fall 2012 at wdw? im going to ucf (go knights!), wont need housing, and plan on doing the online presentation/application. i dont want to apply too early and get looked over or called about spring but i dont want to do it too late and miss out. help??

Fellow Knight here! I would do it as soon as it opens, especially if you have a specific role that you really want. I actually applied in April of 2010 for fall 2010, and I got my first choice one week after my interview, but I decided rather last minute that I wanted to do the CP. Had I known I probably would have done it immediately.

The good news is, they're very specific about what season has applications open at any given time. For example, if you go on the DCP website it says that applications for Fall 2011 are now closed and that the next application season will be for Spring 2012. That way, you'll already know ahead of time which season you're applying for. You can sign up for an email notification on the DCP website that will let you know when applications are open.

I applied for Fall 2011 this year and they started taking applications in mid-January, so my guess is that they will do the same for Fall 2012 next January. I had my phone interview the first day of February and got my acceptance about two weeks later. My college roommate didn't know she wanted to apply until April and she didn't get her acceptance until the very last day that decisions were made. Applying later certainly doesn't automatically shut you out, but if you already know you want to do it I would definitely say the earlier the better.
