Applying a room only code (BBY or ONZ) to an existing reservation is fairly easy......and it depends on how you made your original reservation.
I originally made made my reservations ON-LINE back in January. When the codes came out 2 weeks ago, I CALLED the 800 # to have the codes applied. She told me that, since I originally booked on-line, I'd have to make a whole new set of reservations with the code, THEN cancel the original reservations. She did all of this for me on the phone without a hitch.
Because it was done this way, I had to put a NEW, one-night deposit down and she had to credit my original one-night deposit back to my card. She said it had to be done this way because "on-line" is a totally different computer system than from just calling in. Cross-referencing is not possible (either that, or it's just EASIER to simply re-book).
I checked my credit card statement on-line and I see where the new (much lower) one-night deposit was charged the day I called and the old deposit was credited back to my account a few days later.
Hope this helps.
Edited to say: Oh yeah, my remaining balance is STILL due at check-in (NOT 45 days in advance). I may be mistaken but, I was under the impression that the "45-day balance due" thing is only with Disney-Visa card packages. It might have something to do with the Visa company.
