Apply unused days at resort?

I'm curious...can I apply unused days on passes at check-in for the resort? Or, do I need to do that at the parks?

And, if I have a new 4 day hopper and decide that I would prefer a 5 day...could I transfer that? Or, do they only do that on passes that have already been used?

any unused days on your passes can be up graded at check in at your resort. but the passes have to be up graded, for instance 5 day hopper can be up graded to a 6 or 7 day hopper or you can up grade to length of stay. have a magical time
