Apply Now For Disney Visa Card

To compare value, think about how you will use the rewards. I get 1 mile for every dollar charged to my USAirways Visa, but it carries an annual fee, I think around $35. The dollar value of the reward depends on how you use the miles. 25,000 miles is a free domestic ticket. As I cashed them in, those tickets had about $240-280 value on average---except that last fall, when I took a couple of short-notice trips, I paid an extra $50 for the expedited issuance and took flights which probably would have cost me $700+. I had this card because I lived in Charlotte, NC, a USAirways hub, will have to consider a change now.

I also have an LL Bean Visa. Gets 3% credit on LL Bean purchases, 1/2% on other purchases--when they accumulate to $10, you get a $10 coupon for LL Bean products. Also gets free monogramming and shipping from LL Bean. We use this mainly for LL Bean purchases, because that's where it gets the most bang for the buck. I'm a little surprised that the Disney Visa doesn't automatically give more than 1% rewards for Disney Store and other Disney purchases.

It seems clear if you look at the changes to the Disney Club over the last couple of years, and other developments such as postcards and directed codes, that Disney World is trying to do more targeted marketing. The Disney Visa cardholders will be a group of dedicated customers who will be logical targets for whenever DW wants to beef up bookings in a slow period or introduce a new product, etc., so I would expect that the promise of "Special Disney Bonus Offers" is for real.
