I just want to hear what are some of your previous experiences with the application process for the DCP. I applied for Fall 2014 on Feb. 9th with my friend, only a few days after apps opened. She was asked on the 12th to do her WBI and scheduled her phone interview the same day. Another one of our mutual friends also just applied on the 15th I believe and she put on her app that she had a felony and she was asked to do her WBI an hour after submitting her app, and scheduled a phone interview as well!

Here I am two weeks after applying and still haven't heard anything and I'm starting to get really nervous. Even my sister who did the DCP a couple years ago has told me that she was asked to do her WBI and phone interview very shortly after applying. I know we have until April 18th to hear back but I can't help but worry a little. Has anyone else had a similar experience as me with having to wait like this?

I was/am in your same situation. When I was applying for spring '14 I waited a month, only to be told still under consideration. Then another month later I was told I was no longer in consideration. NOW when I applied for Fall 14, I applied on Feb 10 and I'm still in the "submission" stage.

Disney gets such a high volume of applications, so it may take a while to get to any given one.

It may also depend on your application. Disney may not see exactly what they are looking for so it might not be as highly considered.

I've heard about a lot of people in your situation and I'm really not sure how they pick which applications get WBI right away and which ones they review for longer. My sister and I both applied the first day apps were out and both got WBI and phone interviews within a few hours, and she doesn't even have work experience.

How many roles did you pref? My sister said she would do custodial, and I think that's what has really helped her since she left the work experience section completely blank. Did you only choose really competitive roles? :confused3

Anyways, I'm sorry you're in this situation. I can only imagine how frustrated you must be!

My number one role was recreation but I said I had moderate interest in 3 or 4 other roles. The friend who applied with me chose photo pass as her main role and listed "no interest" for a lot of other ones. The only role I listed no interest for was custodial. Plus I have excellent work experience, including working in recreation, with kids, and retail. I just don't get it. So frustrated.

Two years ago they didn't do the app screening until after the phone interview. Everyone who filled out the application was immediately asked to go to the WBI. I'm speaking from personal experience, but I can also remember seeing this on their blog (disneyprogramsblog.com) somewhere. I believe in the comments of an article

Stuff with the program is always changing. If you compare the current process to a former process, you are going to do yourself a disservice. Base your expectations on what DISNEY says in your communication. What they did in the past doesn't make a bit of a difference when it comes to what they are doing NOW.

I know we have until April 18th to hear back but I can't help but worry a little.

Can't fault you for worrying, but it seems you are already aware on what you should be expecting. You will know if you are going to interview or not by April 18th at the latest. If they make a decision before then (which they may), then you will know their decision at that time. They aren't going to leave you hanging if they have already decided. They don't mess around.
