Appliances? Help!

We are building a new house and are trying to decide on appliances. Any reviews, complaints, or praises?

What we think we want:

Range: Smooth top electric, standard size, freestanding or slide-in

DW: Who knows...Maytag I guess...to many options...what do I need?

Fridge: Side by side, filter, water and Ice thru door, 24+ cu. feet...

HELP!!!!!

My last house I had the Maytag Gemini. I really liked it alot. This house I have GE Monogram appliances (both gas and electric).

I like the side by side refrigerator (GE Monogram). Ice and water a must for our family plus this refrigerator has a filter inside.

I have the kitcheaid dishwasher........very quiet, I love it. My other house had a Bosch, also a very nice dishwasher and quiet.

I loved my smooth top stove, but as someone pointed out on this board, they are slow to heat up and slow to cool down. Just something to think about. Slide in or built in - I don't think it matters but I hate when there is a little gap betwen the stove where food can slip in. I have a 26.5 GE side-by-side. It was an 1800 refrigerator I got for 1,000. Now I find out the reason I got it so cheap was because it was discontinued due to poor design. Cleaning one of the drawers is a MAJOR project. Just some things to think about.
