Apple Watch / Apple Pay?

Has anyone had success using the Apple Wallet app on their Apple Watch to pay for things in WDW, such as meals or souvenirs? Specifically, is there an ability to load Disney gift cards and pay using those directly from the watch?
Thanks! I know I can use my Magic Band and I can load gift cards at our resort to cover charges from the Magic Band, but I want to know if I can use the Apple Watch.

I've used both my watch and iPhone at many locations around WDW. However, that was with my regular (Chase Disney) credit card, not a gift card. Your iPhone/watch is not a substitute for a magic band - yet.

I have used my apple watch to pay for things at disney too it is very easy

I've used my apple watch and phone to pay when I don't want to use the card linked to my MB. You can't link gift cards to my knowledge.

I would love if Disney and Apple worked to make the apple watch function like a MB. I love my watch as it has gotten better with the updates. I can't remember does it have RFID capabilities?

Essentially it does. It uses something called Near Field Communications (NFC) which would send the appropriate signal to the reader. That's actually what happens with ApplePay.

Not necessarily. I haven't heard about Andriod Pay being supported. They use two different systems and since Apple and Disney are partners I would imagine they may want to be Apple only.

Got curious so googled it. Google wallet and apple pay are both supported!
