Apple vs Scooterbug vs Buena Vista vs BP

universal only allows these 4 companies to drop off at their hotels. I just got off the phone with their guest services and they indicated that even if I was waiting at the hotel for a drop off that it wouldn’t be allowed. Leaving out BP since I’ve never heard of them, what has everyone’s experiences been like with the other 3?
 
I can't comment on recent experience but Buena Vista scooters had gone downhill when I stopped using them a few years ago. Hopefully they've refreshed their fleet. If you want to rent from another vendor (like Gold Mobility) I'd call that vendor directly and ask them about this policy. They know if they're actually dropping off devices currently...just never seen anyone mention this before but maybe I missed it.
 
I've had Gold Mobility drop off at PBH and Sapphire Falls. At Portofino they drop off using the valets and not bellhops.

My understanding is Gold doesn’t use Universal logos and can't promote themselves as a featured or preferred provider.

Call Gold, or whatever vendor you use, and ask.
 
Gold Mobility Scooters has dropped off at the all of the Universal resorts for us except for Royal Pacific. The only place we needed to meet with them in person was Royal Pacific. Never had an issue.

Even if you do have to meet them in person, you will generally find it to be less of a wait for them than you would wait for Bell Services. Gold Mobility will meet you on your schedule (unless it is after delivery hours) and will generally be waiting for you rather than the other way around. The scooters are also nicer and include damage and theft coverage, both of which are very important these days. Not to mention some of these other companies have been canceling at the last minute (I believe these were ScooterBug and BP), leaving people without any rentals and some with about 2 hour battery life (I believe that one was Apple).

Gold Mobility is always standing there when we arrive. Excellent communication. With our 10 years of experience using other companies I wouldn't use any other company besides Gold.

I agree excellent flexibility and communications, I have never waited.

To be clear, current experience, Gold furnishes the time, or a choice of times, based on my request. An example. I tell Gold I want the scooter delivered at 10:30a. I might get a call the day before asking if I want 10a or 11a.

I suspect drivers will sometimes handle a cluster of resorts.

I used Apple when we went in April and have always used them and would never use them again. Granted it was a last minute rental because our person scooter broke but they have gone downhill. they were rude and the first scooter we had didn't hold a charge.

With Gold, we always reserve our time when we rent and they are there waiting for us when we arrive. We have had to wait 45 minutes just to get through the line at Bell Services though.

We are up to 8 separate rentals with Gold Mobility now. Just came back from another spot on experience. Changing over to them was a game changer a couple years back. Every single pickup and delivery is always at the promised time. Never have we had a service related issue. The scooters are always like brand new, and battery always lasts all day and night. We use to use the " preferred vendors " on the Disney and Universal lists and had nothing but trouble.

I used to use Apple years ago. Each time the scooter had to be replaced for some reason or another. They were pretty prompt with the replacements but it would have been nice to have one without problems for once. We now use Gold.
