Apple TV vs Roku

Ok, I got a Roku box and so far we really like it. We are ditching Directv later this month.

However, we need to furnish 2 more TVs with a streaming box of some kind.

I like the idea of an Apple TV so that I can plan things from itunes, but DH likes the Roku because it is 1080p and because it has ports for surround sound.

Anyone know if Apple TV can handle extra speakers (does it have ports for them?)

I am considering getting an Apple TV for the computer in the bedroom and Roku for the other two.
