I am looking at possibly purchasing the ipod touch. I currently have the shuffle, which has worked fine. I am looking at the ipod touch and was wondering if you have one do you like it? I would get the smallest gb because it holds so much. But I am clueless to it!
Thanks

I love mine!! I have a 32G. I went from an ipod shuffle to the touch and there is no comparison at all. I love being able to organize all of my music and podcasts. There are applications for everything-I used my Kindle App so much that I could barely more my hand for a couple of days :D

I think it is soooo user friendly as well--anyone can pick it up and figure out how to use it in just a few minutes (if it even takes that long)

I really want an iphone now-hopefully in the next few years Verizon will get one-I take my Ipod Touch and phone every where with me and would love to have one tool since I organize my life on these things. Plus the Ipod touch works off any open wireless internet-the iphone would have it's own internet service.

Thanks! Does yours have a voice command also? I know absolutely nothing about them! What is kindle? I just learned that they have wi-fi! lol. So you know how clueless I am!

I love my touch. Love it, love it, love it. =)

Instead of carrying around a pda to keep track of addresses, a ds to play games on during downtimes, a book, a sketch pad and an ipod for music, I have one sleek little device that does it all and more. I can even do some limited surfing, so perhaps it even eliminates the need to carry a pc.

If Verizon gets the iPhone, I'd probably get that, and drop one more item from my purse - the cell phone.

I think mine has the voice command-it came with the earbuds with the mic-but I've never used it. That particular earbud won't fit in one of my ears (I had an eardrum repaired many years ago and they grafted it using a tiny piece of the outside of my ear-so those earbuds won't stay in.)

The Kindle app is a book reading application-you can buy the books from Amazon (they also have free ones) and they download to your ipod touch. It's great always having a book with me-I think I've got about 60 books on mine right now-barely takes up any room and helps keep my book shelf clutter down as well.

You can check the weather on it, play games, use maps, check email, download shows and movies and the list goes on and on.

Can't tell you how much we LOVE it...my 7yr old fights me to use it all the time. We have lots of game aps, math games etc. I use it for email, facebook, internet access etc. LOVE that it connects to any wi-fi. It is sooo amazing!

What size gb do you all recommend or have? I thought the 8gb would be fine, but now wondering if I should get the 32? I doubt that I need the 64.
But this would be great for work!

I just bought one. So far I have downloaded an audiobook from my library and transferred it to my iPod touch. I have an iPod plug in my new car (in the glove box) and can control it from the screen on my dashboard. So now I listen to my "books-on-tape" on my iPod instead of using CDs in the car stereo. I love it for this feature alone (but then I have a long commute each day).

The next thing I am going to do is download the kindle app so I can read books on it.

If you plan to download many games and other apps and Music I would get the biggest you can afford. We bought the 8g and we have had times that we had to delete stuff to download something. Of course our 4 yr ds uses it most so he has lots and lots of games and videos on it. It really depends on what you plan to use it for. Music only... the smaller will be more than enough but if you don't want to worry about running out of room I would go bigger.

btw... we LOVE LOVE LOVE it. my 14 yr old ds has his own and then the one that was bought for dh has became 4 yr old ds's! they have literally had fights over it! lol :rolleyes1

Thanks everyone! I plan on using it for music and addresses/scheduling and email for work

I ADORE my iPod Touch!!! I have the 32G. I use it for music and movies and the internet, mostly. It's fantastic to have on airplanes, because you can just kick back and watch movies you love, until you arrive. I've got a ton of music (more than what filled up my 4G iPod Nano) and about 12 movies on it right now, plus photos and apps, and I've still got some space to grow. Internet is great, as long as you have a wi-fi network. I have one at home, so I hardly ever turn on my actual computer anymore. Every time I stay in a hotel, I always check for free wi-fi and love being able to use my iPod as I travel.

Seriously, though, for me the movies are the greatest thing. The picture and sound are amazing. And having movies in my pocket is like my greatest dream come true!!

I've never been an Apple fan, but I do love my Itouch. I have the 32 gig and DD has the 8. I'd go for the larger one if you can swing it cause there is so much you can do with it that it would be a shame for you to pay for the 8 gig and then realize you should have got one with more storage.

Mine is nowhere close to full but DD had downloaded some free tv episodes on hers to watch on our last trip and ended up having to delete some stuff to get them to fit. I now wish Santa had brought her the 32 gig instead.

You may just want it for music and email but there is soooo much you can do with it.

I have the 32 mg and love it! I love being able to fit so much music on it and there are so many fun apps, plus vidoes and movies. I also use my laptop a lot less since we have wi-fi at home. I'm always suprised how many wi-fi connections I find to use when I'm out and about. Have fun!

Thanks everyone! I am going to get the 32. Sounds like that is the way to go!

Have the 32. But for me it was an upgrade from an 8gb nano. So the 8 was out of the question. I was tired of constantly taking off and adding.

The video is great, I'm actually using the touch to wean myself from the habit of falling asleep with the tv on. It has a built in speaker.

And I rarely turn on the laptop anymore, I have wi-fi in the house, so I can get most web surfing done from it. And yes I even dis from it. :cloud9:

I got the 8g about 6 weeks ago and love it. However, now I wish I had gotten the 32 gig!

I had it for about a month before I ever put music on it (and now I only have about 5 songs) . . . the other apps were too entertaining as well as a few videos. :0)

ENJOY!

My DD10 has an iPod Touch and she loves it! I got her the 32GB version for Christmas and it's loaded up with music, videos and apps. Since it has wi-fi, she also uses it when we're at Starbucks, Panera Bread...anyplace with a wi-fi hotspot. And it is invaluable to use on trips and while waiting in line at the attractions.

I would strongly suggest getting the 32GB version. 16GB fills up very fast and isn't a very good value. The 32GB gives you enough room to grow without springing for the 64GB.

From an apple techie.... please buy the 32 GB. Not becos it holds songs and apps more but there is abasic difference in the inside processor too. The 8GB is not a true 3generation.

The OS4 which will become availaible next month will not support the 8 GB

Also if you can wait till then buy it with the new OS

I was surprised by a touch for Christmas this year. My old ipod was a Nano, and I couldn't imagine needing more than that. I was so wrong. I'm completely addicted to my touch now. The only bad thing is that it's making me really, really want an iphone. I have such a sweet deal though on my current phone that it's really out of the question.

I love having one device that can do everything for me. I commute to work by train, so I love having all my music, videos, games and books on one device. (I use the Kindle app. Love it!) I'm also a knitter had found apps that let me store my pdf'd patterns on my touch as well. I'm no longer lugging around books, patterns, etc. I love having it all in one sleek little unit. Come to think about it maybe I really do need that iphone next. I do hate when I'm in a non-wifi area and can't access everything.

I love my ipod touch. Its a 32 also and since I have fios and get wi-fi at home I can do so much more and not be at the computer. Took 2 bus rides recently NY to MD and back and I loved my ipod. My dd kids with me and my flat electronic devices. Ipod touch, kindle, and cell phone!
