Apple Ipad2 delivery dates

For those who ordered their Ipad2 after the release date how accurate was the delivery time frame?

AKA can I get my hopes of it arriving before the end of April? (shipping date is listed as 4/28) Does is matter what size/type ordered? DH ordered me the black 64g wi-fi.

From what I understand, there is a bigger shortage of the 3G iPads than there is of the Wi-Fi. But they all may be affected by the tragedy in Japan. A lot of Japanese tech companies (parts, manufacturing, etc.) have had to halt production due to damage, or cut back due to rolling brownouts. I'm thinking it would be pretty hard to predict at this point.

They are assembled in China. The parts are made all over the place. For example, the A5 processor is manufactured by Samsung in Korea. The Flash drives are manufactured by Toshiba in Japan. The LCD displays are manufactured by LG and Samsung in Korea, and by Epson in Japan. If you don't have the parts, it's hard to assemble it.

Ours are supposed to be arriving 4/16 and 4/22 I think. We will see.

Mine was supposed to be delivered before March 25th. It was delivered today, but I wasn't home to receive it. I ordered at 12:59am PST.

My case came via FedEx today, so I looked to see if the shipping date was the same for my ipad and it has been moved up an entire week.

Original ship date was slated at 4/28, but now is 4/21. Crossing my fingers.

No. The date plan is optional and you can pay month to month if you want. There is also the wifi only version, which does not connect to the 3G network.
