Hope I can help, a bit! While I do not know about location of these-though I have heard they are close--I can tell you about the restaurants themselves & the food they offer.
We have an Applebees around the corner from my home--it is DH & DS fave. They enjoy the Bflo chicken wings & the other appetizers, they have good salads & basic soups. Lots of basics like burgers, chicken sandwiches, chicken fingers, ribs, sandwich wraps, some pasta dishes, fajitas, steaks and desserts. The have a full-bar usually and offer kid's meals--I cannot remember what they are since DS gets chicken wings when he goes there. Here's a link to their online menu:

Chili's is more of a Tex-Mex restaurant, not authentic mexican food, but the popular version of it. They have lots of grilled items, chicken, shrimp, beef in fajitas, burritos, etc... The have sandwich wraps, pitas, steaks, burgers and desserts. They also offer kid's meals. Here's a link to their online menu:

Sorry I can't help with actual thoughts on proximity to your hotel. Sounds like Chili's would be in the area--doesn't sound like the Applebee's are close.
