Planning a Christmas cocktail party...with nibbles

Anyone have any easy yummy ideas? Any experience with anything store bought to make it easier too?

All suggestions appreciated!!

Why not try M & M Meat shops!

Or Grumbo's Favourite, Costco!

They both carry a good assortment of appitizer's that you heat and serve. And they actually taste good!

and it looks great as well;)

Buy a pre-made dip...I really like the President's Choice Spinach and Artichoke Dip, or the Roasted Veggie one...buy a circular loaf of bread...

The morning of your party, cut the bread like you're going to carve it - like a pumpkin:) You now have a ready made bread bowl. Cut up the bread - that you cut from the inside- into dippable pieces. Wrap it in saran to keep fresh.

Just before your guests arrive, spoon the dip into the bowl part, arrange pieces, veggies, tortilla chips, whatever you like to dunk:)around the outside...et voila!!

haha, I was about to suggest anything President's Choice or at costco! I've had good luck with anything I've bought there. LOVE the dip idea, have done it many times myself and has been a big hit. Smoked Salmon and cream cheese rolls (I usually make them myself) also go pretty fast too!

I oredered a cheese tray too...how lazy am I??

I was thinking M&M's as well and I do always like Presidents Choice as well...they used to make..maybe still do...a Brie in Phyllo pastry with mushrooms that was very good....Of course, doesn't help that last night we went to friends and she baked and cooked a hundred things from scratch...ugh...make me look bad....

Another vote for the spinach dip - I find that everybody loves spinach dip. An idea though - get a large round loaf of bread (I know there is a name for it, but cannot remember it). Scoop out the middle layer of bread (keep the pieces scooped out) and put the dip inside the bread (use it as a bowl). put some cheddar cheese on top and broil in the oven (enough to melt the cheese). Not only does it warm up the bread a little, but you added some cheese to dip (okay, more cheese to the dip). If you keep the bread that you scooped out, you can use that for dipping. Put some colored tortilla chips with it as well and you have a mighty fine appetizer idea. It really only takes about 5 minutes to prepare, and it looks like a lot longer too!

Pumpernickel?

Another vote for President's Choice, by the way. They have all kinds of great appetizers. The shrimp wraps are really good.

Kungaloosh!
Morticia.
