Appears to be Noro on the Wonder

Some people have a reason to refuse... I do. The wipes they offered us on our last cruise caused a nasty reaction on my hands. I too quit using them. Certain brands of these wipes have chemicals that are not skin friendly to everyone. At the time period of that cruise I was using dozens of wipes daily for the care of my FIL, (under hospice care). We had to buy particular brands to avoid the harsher chemical agents that are known to cause skin problems. Not all reasons are obvious to the casual observer.

Then at least be nice about it and carry your own special wipes and wipe down in front of them. I'd question people being nasty about it too when there is absolutely zero reason to be.

I was very impressed that the design of the bathrooms took this into consideration and made it easy to do.

The neat thing I found with the bathrooms is the sign telling you to do this when you wash your hands!!

It is really easy to keep you hands super clean on a Disney ship. In addition to the bathroom that have an attendant in them most of the day, they offer hand cleaner and hand out wipes on the way in to places to eat. Lots of options to keep clean. You just have to be very cautious in doing so and help and insist that the kiddies to the same!!!

yea I saw in the other cruise group a lady from the Wonder posted that people are vomitting all over the place (a kid apparently in the adult only section)... and people apparently not honoring the quarantine.... ugh my worst fear is to be aboard a ship with Noro, haven't had Noro yet but seems like it's extremely contagious and very hard to avoid.... prayers to all those involved and I hope the deep clean helps... I hope the CMs don't all get it though

My niece got it on our March cruise on the Magic but my son and I did not. She is a terrible hand washer and always had her hands in her mouth. If I told once I told her a hundred times to wash her hands. My son and are I adamant hand washers and didn't get sick. Hand washing is key!!

Don't worry we will be fine I'm also on the repo cruise that leaves tomorrow.
DCL will do what it has to and a lot more to get the ship ready. Crew workers will be working longer hours than normal. Wouldn't even be surprised if there will be cleaning companies ready to board tomorrow to help out.

Have a wonderful time!!! :)

We were on the first DCL cruise in 2002 that had the norovirus breakout, it was all over the news while we were sailing. We debarked late because we all had to fill out forms for the CDC.
News camera's everywhere when we left the ship. We thought we were lucky we escaped unscathed, wrong my son at the time was 10, he got it about 48 hours after we left the ship. :/

On the Wonder now, mostly children are sick. I heard about 80 kids and a few of the parents.
They have taken every precaution for prevention.
The crew are on serious overtime, I feel so bad for them, and they have to disinfect 24/7 now and then back at Miami a full ship disinfecting.

We have fared very well, stayed out of elevators, washing hands before going to MDR or any food venues and taking the wipes. Also have my own stash of Clorox wipes and sanitizer. Maybe a bit much but we are well.

I overheard a woman at nearby table say the doctor wanted her DD on 24 hr quarantine, but she brought her to MDR. I hope she was truly just seasick, as the woman said.

The crew are all amazing despite passengers getting in the way.

I saw on another forum also that they shut down the self service drink stations and the buffet, which is an excellent idea. I can wash my hands all day but if little Jonny is coughing and sneezing on the dinner rolls or putting his dirty little hands all over the clean cups and lids, I could still get sick. On our last cruise (one the Wonder) little Johnny took multiple dinner rolls with his bare hands and when his mother noticed she told him to put some back, so he did...with his bare hands.

I bet almost all cruise members will be up to the maximum hours worked that they can by law. I'm sure lots of departments will be helping out cleaning. The cleaning crew they have are great but they can only work so many hours a week. Does anyone know how many hours a crew members can work a week? I seen a picture of it before but cant remember I think it was 91 or 94 hours.

Could not agree more about the crew. Sometimes passengers forget the world does not revolve around them and that there might be considerations they might not be aware of. :)

Yes all buffet, drink stations, palo brunch, cove and outlook snacks now served to you. Oops no more snacks in Cove at all.

Yes and this was the last port where they could pick up their basics for the 14 day PC. They are all on duty.

I'm on the ship now with 2 friends (No kids cruise)
The crew are doing an amazing job! They're disinfecting everything like crazy!
We have witnessed one teenager vomitting, but that's all we've seen in regards to ill people.
We wash our hands frequently, carry around wipes and hand sanitizer, stay out of the elevators, don't touch the hand rails, etc...
Buffets, drink stations etc are all being served by crew members.
They even took away the salt and pepper shakers, ketchup, anything that could potentially spread the virus.
Disney, in my opinion, is dealing with this very well!

Anyone coming on the Panama Canal cruise honestly shouldn't worry. Once at Port tomorrow the ship is being fully sanitized!!

My only advice, once you embark and go to your stateroom- for precaution...wipe down the light switches, door handles (don't forget the door handle outside of the door as well) remote controls, toilet seat and handle, door handle leading out to the balcony (if you have one) ANYTHING we touch, you disinfect!

I'm sure the rooms will be throughly cleaned and sanitized, but always better to be safe!!!!! :)

WOW, hope you all are safe and manage to stay healthy! Feeling sick with a gastro virus is bad enough, no less being sick on vacation, on a ship!:scared1:
GOOD THOUGHTS to all!:goodvibes::yes::

Yes the Stateroom host cleaned all fixtures with a cotton swab and cleaner in our room, they are very diligent. So no worries there and they have a full disinfection in Miami.
They are doing a great job.
