Apologizing for last weeks post about the ECV and seeing eye dog

I just got back on today and read the thread I started last week. I am SO sorry I did not mean to offend so many people and sound so careless. I didn't think that people would take my post offensivly because I said it in total innocence. I can't understand why everyone thought I was making fun of the woman. I only posted because I couldn't believe I had actually seen that. I mean obviously the woman WASN'T blind. THAT is why I posted it. I thought,"boy, I have seen it all". I stupidly didn't even think of it being a companion dog because I have never seen one before, and I also thought that ONLY seeing eye dogs were allowed. Again, I am sorry. I wasn't in any way making fun of anyone, just posting a unbelievable thing I saw on my trip.

I may be more 'sensitive' too as my Grandmother was blind, my son is hard of hearing, we're exposed to companion dogs, as well as dogs for the blind. I notice reports on dogs, and I've seen a report on monkeys that are agile and help people with disabilities!

I've always enjoyed your post, and knew you were not being hateful whatsover, I was also amazed at how frightfully negative the postings got...nt...

I totally did not take any offense to what you posted. I, too, thought what you saw was something funny!

Some people read soooo much into things, almost to a point of the ridiculous! It is a shame that you can't even post something innocent without some people totally missing your point!

Keep your posts coming, dear. Some of us have a true sense of humor. And yes, I have worked with the blind for many years and they would have thought what you posted as funny, too! I am certain of it!

At some point in all of our lives, we have all said something, and had it taken the wrong way. Don't feel badly. You did not intend to offend anyone! And your apology speaks volumes about your true character.

I do think that some people actually cruise this board, and their daily lives, looking for confrontation.

Don't let the negativity spreaders upset you..on the boards or in your daily life.

Thanks Mandee - I was one who did take offense to your post and I am sorry you were not around to clarify. fwiw I totally accept your apology and your clarification.

I am not a person who likes confrontation or negativity - but its a topic that I care about so I overreacted. Perhaps you can accpet my apology as well.

I didn't read the entire thread before addressing the OP. So allow me to add that I really don't think I am ridiculous and I do have a great sense of humor (just ask my kids they are always laughing at me <g>).

I posted on that thread because my feelings were hurt, not to start anything. I don't know the OP and her posting manner, perhaps if I did I would have reacted differently.

I post often here at the dis - usually answering questions here and on the family board. I can't even remember the last time I posted on a thread that was closed, if ever.

I do wish that the op's apology could have been accepted without judging and name calling to of us who responded. Again, yes I did overreact and I apologize to the OP for that.
