Apologies - this vet should know this banking question!

I really did read through other "banking" posts to try and figure this out, but for the life of me I can't! Help! In all my years as a DVC member we've never had to deal with banked points. We always use them up!

I have 92 points that are December 2013 UY. I banked them, so now they are sitting in Dec 2014 UY. Do those 92 points have to be USED (as in, the trip completed) by the end of November 2015? Or do I simply need to make a reservation that uses them by that time? Can I use them for a March 2016 trip?

I hope this makes sense. And I thank anyone with knowledge who is willing to share it with me. I know these banking/borrowing threads can get redundant! Sure wish I'd paid more attention to them!

I believe they need to be used by the end of the use year whichever use year they are in at the end. (I think that's why they call it a use year.)

No, they have to be used by the end of November 2015.

It would be too confusing if it were just "they have to be reserved" by the end of the use year. With a potential 11 month reservation lead time (possibly more; isn't a cruise two years in advance?) you'd basically be giving points a 35 month lifespan.

All points use is based on date of stay, not when you reserve. So same rule applies for borrowing points also.

For March 2016, your December 2015 use year would be current. So you can use banked 2014, current 2015, borrowed 2016.
