hi

i am going for one week staying at pop, i have no DP but already have my passes!

i have cashed up £1000 and got $1650....is this enough for one person? i am going with friends this time round :)

TIA

1 week, 1 person £1,000 :scared1:
We are 3 adults average $100/day, we throw everything on the credit card, end of this week I expect to have a bill for under £500.

How you manage $1.65/£1 or did you change slightly more than £1,000?

4 of us, all adults - DS & DD could be professional shoppers :lmao: and we all enjoy eating out for breakfast, lunch and dinner and we don't spend £1000 a week!

hoping to treat myself to some shopping, i want some new ugg boots :cheer2:

thank you both for your help x

Yes, you have plenty cash. We certainly never spent that on two of us, even factoring in the OOP cost of meals on the DDP - and if we had only ordered what we wanted we would have spent less than half on food and drinks as what we did.

£1000 will do 2 of us for 2 weeks with plenty spending, OOP TS meals and would have covered the cost of our CS meals and snacks even if we had paid for them - with change left over.

I know some folk don't/won't take a credit card, but I tend to be more conservtive with cash/currency that I take nowdays and take a few credit cards as back up. Less so for spending, but more for 'emergency' however it is nice to know they are there.

i don't own a credit card, to be honest i'd be lethal with one :scared1: my mate will have hers and she has already said don't worry coz if I need to she would sort me out lol....so panic over i suppose :rotfl:

I'm the same, I don't have a credit card so need a lot of spending money to be able to cover anything unexpected!

I think you can spend as little or as much as you want there, I could easily see myself spending £2k in two weeks! Hopefully not but that's how much I'm planning of saving up so we know we have enough. Anything left can go towards booking another trip! :D

We budget £25 per person per day for food, amenities and transport - and always come out with change - although we do put clothes etc. on the credit card.

You need to check your travel insurance covers you to carry that much cash.

oh i didnt think of that.....thank you for the heads up :thumbsup2

That would be more than enough for me. I just looked at my statement from May when me and my friend went last time and I spent about £400 in 2 weeks, on food, taxi's, merchandise, everything. I bet that sounds really low to some people but I didn't feel like I was being thrifty at the time or anything, I came back with lots of souvenirs and ate out most nights.

Hmmm got me thinking.I have ddp for 5 days dcl for 4 nights and then ALKV with no ddp. I am upgrading to AP and buying TIW card but have allowed £700 for food for the 6 days as there are 4 of us(3 adults one child) and we are eating on site and have 7 sit down meals.(tusker house, boma, yak and yeti, crystal palace ,hollywood and vine and 50's prime time.)Perhaps this is too much for food I dont know:confused3 Then I have got $3000 spending money but buying an ipad2 and uggs for defo.
I now if we were staying off site the food bill would be less but not having a car and only 10 days onsite and taking my mom for the last time I wanted to treat her:hug:
