We are going to Disneyland from Dec.31st (not in parks that day because of late-ish arrival) until Jan5th, and I have been researching hotels offsite, but was also thinking that if we could get discounts onsite that we may stay there. I may buy ap as I am sure we will find a way to get down there again.

What is the discount for hotels (PP or DLH) with the ap approximately? Right now it looks like my best bet at making it economical is booking offsite but just wanted to have all my ducks in a row before I make final decision. Thanks!

Off-site will 100% be less expensive. The AP discount is 10% off the rack rate, but can be up to 30% if there is a special deal. Checking in on New Year's Eve, however, the most busy night of the year for Disneyland, I doubt Disneyland will be having any special discounts to lure in travelers at that time. They have not yet posted AP rates for December, but if you search the regular rate, just take 10% off of that to assume your price.

Thank you. That was my train of thought as well.
