APH PBH rate almost as low as AAA RPR Rate

For late July, did anyone notice that the APH PBH rate ($189) is almost as low as the AAA RPR Rate ($183) for a standard room?

If we stay 6 nights, it costs us just $36 to stay in a nicer/bigger room (460 sq ft vs 335 sq ft) w/Playstation access for $ for DD in PBH/not RPH, DVD player in PHB/not RPH, bathrobes at PBH/not RPH, 3 pools & 4 jacuzzis at PBH/1 pool & 2 jacuzzis at RPR; however, it would cost an extra $100 for the preferred annual pass instead of a regular pass. So the net increase would be $136 or $23/night. I wonder if it would be worth it or not given the distance of the PBH from the parks compared to the RPH distance. I have also taken into consideration the other perks you get with the APH, but many of the restaurant/shop discounts are about the same as you get with the AAA.

What do you think? Reason I would like to go to PBH is to do a spa treatment. On the other hand, we will be doing Tchoup one night, and RPH is more convenient to that. In terms of the theming, I think each is nice. Can't decide!

I think this is a tough decision.
What do you think?

Also, did anyone ever switch hotels in the midst of their stay? Is that a hassle? Don't think we'd do that, just curious of what people who've done it thought afterwards.

Thanks everyone so much for your help!

We have done both RPR and PB and I would definitely go for the room at PB. The boat ride to the parks is great and we have walked it, too. I don't remember it being such a bad walk, but we mostly did the boat. It was a beautiful sight pulling into PB on the boat.

The villa pool alone would make me stay at PB!!!

i booked the aph rate for 239 only reason it was more because 4 adults in our room. but yes what a great deal :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc be there in 2 weeks

i just noticed in your post you asked about switching hotels i dont think its a hassle we change hotels all the time when we go to disney.this time were staying 2 nites pbh 1 nite at hard rock and i nite seaworls hilton vacation resort.thats 3 hotels in 4 nites. but we saved a bundle. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Oh, I wish I hadn't read this thread. :guilty: For curiousity, I checked the rates for our dates & we could book a Deluxe room @ PBH for $5/ night more than our pool view room @ HRH. That's a bummer, because our DS(14) really wants to stay @ HRH.

OP,
We've stayed at both PBH & RPR, & IMHO they don't even compare. Go with PBH! :cloud9: The rate you quoted was better than anything I saw for our stay. We're going 7/23 to 7/28. What nights did you price? Have a great trip. :sunny:

Our son and daughter-in-law became engaged on the balcony of our room at PB. He was on the balcony and she came out and he dropped to one knee. It was priceless. DH and I were hiding under a tree on the ground below all teary-eyed. The sun was setting and just as she said yes a live singer in the piazza began singing "when the moon hits the sky ......... that's amore" It was like it had all been choreographed. I will never forget that trip to PB!

You will love it. We also loved RPR, but PB has a luxuriousness to it!

I find that APH rate is usually the best for us. I got $259/night for deluxe club level room @ PBH in September which is the lowest that I have ever seen for this room type. A regular deluxe room was only $199/night.

Thanks everyone for your help!

Tarheelmjfan: The period we priced out was 7/17-7/23. I think this is such a great deal.

That is a great rate! If we didn't have reservations at Daytona Beach after our HRH stay, we'd change our dates. You picked a good time to go. :)
