We are DVC members and APH's. We are going to Orlando on a cheap weekend as we snagged Frontier flights for $30 each way into Tampa. I know it will take 2 hours to drive over, but still seemed worth it. We are looking for ideas to stay for getaway weekend without kids. We are booked at POR but saw the cabins are not much more. Bonus is we will be at MK for Moonlight Magic and cabins would be closer, but POR we can take the boat to DS for late night drinks or food. Any thoughts? Also trying to think what the wife would like better. Side note we will be at AKV Kidani in March and BCV in June. Just looking for something different. We have never stayed at POR. There is nothing available on points without booking a 2br.

My wife wouldn’t do FW. She feels it’s too rustic and “not Disney” enough.
(But it would be closer to the kitchen amenities of a DVC 1BR)

The boat ride would be decent, but transportation to anything else means taking an internal bus to the mains stop to take a park bus. POR has multiple bus stops, like OKW or SSR, and you don’t have to transfer.

I’d stay with POR, and only book FW of you’ve had a meal at FW and the wife really liked it ther.

I hope it is okay now as I went ahead and jumped over to the cabins for Sunday stay. I would have stayed at POR but I grabbed a OKW reservation for Saturday that I just figured out if I don't have a match I will lose the points as our use year is in March. We have stayed at FW in March and talked about staying in the cabins so that part is good. I would have preferred BRV but this will do.
