I’m planning a trip in September and I want to buy a preferred AP to get the discount on HHN and RIP tour. Is there anyway to do this even though my pass won’t be activated until my first day at the park in September. I haven’t purchased anything yet because I’m hoping to figure it out.

They must have changed policy (or I was lucky or you were unlucky), because they let me get the discount when I first got APs 3 years ago. I had the AP ticket number, but it wasn't activated yet. It might be worth another call (hopefully with a different customer service rep on the phone) just to be sure.

Thanks for the replies. I called and got the same anwser as posted above. I’m going to reserve now and try to call and get the AP discount once activated. I was hoping there was a trick I didn’t know about lol, thanks again!

You’ll book at the regular tour rate

Once you activate your ap, check with guest services if you can have the discount applied to that tour

I have no idea if this is a loophole that can be done

Or if they will tell you that the tour has to be cancelled and rebooked

Please come back to this thread and let us know if you were successful

When I got my last ap in 2016 they let me get my hhn tickets with the discount by looking up my order but wouldn't this time.

What UO allowed 3 years ago or even 2 years back, no longer is possible now.

If their system is updated to require the AP to be active and current, then you would be paying current prices for tickets if your ap has lapsed.

The special of buy one HHN ticket and get one free for any day of Sun-Fri, has expired.

I'm sure many are kicking themselves now that took a pass on that limited special.
