APEE faltering so EMH to DCA every day this summer for Disney hotel guests?

I understand why this might be true and a lot of the rationale posted earlier. Those same reasons are why I thought it was a GREAT deal to book an un-planned trip for July. Expecting to share CL for an hour with only Deluxe/Premium AP holders who happened to register for the same day as me and show up (and again the next day for DL) - I decided that was worth taking a couple vacation days for myself and DH, splurging ($ and DVC points) to book DLH and take a mini-vacation. So I am really hoping this stays a rumor at least for another week. But either way - we have a plan and will have a great time - so I'm not going to stress over it!! :goodvibes

Agree with all of this! I STILL think the restrictions made things too limited which shot them in the foot but of course I understand why they did it. But as pinkbudgie said, I dont get the need registering 3 days before your date? I mean if there is still room the next day, then I dont get the issue doing it then? So I think being extra cautious and being so limited is a big part of the problem.

And I said this from the beginning they probably only needed to do it the first month anyway while people were super excited to to do it. I imagine most Apers who are local who REALLY wanted to see CL has A. Either seen it already or B. Will just wait until later regardless because the crowds scared them. So there was no need to do it past the first few weeks of opening although I understand why they would offer it all summer obviously. And like you said a lot of Apers are blocked out now, the majority of them actually so come August and September it probably will pick up a bit. I still dont get why they just dont give the lower Apers the option to buy a black out ticket and go? I mean if you have a limited number, you have a limited number. So give them the oppurtunity to go even if they buy a black out ticket for it, especially if its not reaching its limit.

And if you are a Deluxe or Premium holder, which are the only two that can even go now, you have SO MUCH time to go! I had a friend who has a Deluxe pass who showed up at the resort around 10:30 on a Wednesday night just so he could ride RSR before the park closed. Thats the kind of advantages local Apers can do on their own already, especially the hardcore ones.

There are lots of non-local AP holders. I've had my AP for 5 years now. I have yet to get on any of the rides at Carsland. I signed up for AP EE for a date that is convenient to me (and weekdays aren't convenient for most local AP holders since I'm pretty sure we all work).

I wish DLR would experiment with late night hours
like WDW does. They have proven they can work a wristband system with Halloween and Grad Night. Let me tell you being in the Magic Kingdom at WDW at 3am was one of my favorite memories ever.

I am hoping this doesn't happen too.

The only rumor I can remember not panning out is The Market House becoming a Starbucks. Of course a couple years later we have a Starbucks in DCA but it took several years and it isn't Disneyland/Market House.

The Market House *will* be the next location for Starbucks inside DLR parks. It just hasn't happened yet. Not sure when they will begin the transformation but I can assure you Al was spot on with that info. :)

If he is "spot on" it was 3 years premature, since it was 2009 when he first talk abou it.

I have also read about it being in the Carnation Cafe or Jolly Holiday Bakery.

It's been in the works for more than 3 years. As of right now Market House is where Starbucks will be next. There are other locations being planned for Starbucks at other Disney Parks, as well. However, Market House is the only one that is going forward at DL at this point.

What's the Market House?

I'm glad I did my APEE on Saturday! It seemed well attended to me. However I did DLEE this morning and I counted about 75 people at 7am. It was a dream by the way. Rode Pan, Snow White, Toad, Matterhorn, Alice, Space twice, Star Tours, and Buzz before 8am.

I wish they would just let us APers go again. They only reason they said we can only use APEE once is because they thought alot more people would sign up.

I just took advantage of my APEE on Saturday, and it seemed plenty crowded for Carsland! I got to the gate with 20 minutes to spare and the lines were already fairly deep. By opening we had filled in the entire area that was marked off for us. The atmosphere was full on rope drop with people dashing until they reached the CMs that were holding us all back and walking us slowly to RS. The line for RSR was huge, and by the time I got off I had no time before opening to ride anything else - I had to hightail it over to the FP line so I could get a ticket to ride with my husband. Had it been any more crowded it would have not been worth getting up for - is that what Disney wants? So much crowding that you can't DO anything with the hour aside from get in line?

Count me in the group that did not show up for my DL one the next morning though, like someone said I have an AP but my husband does not so after spending one hectic morning trying to meet up in the RSR FP line we decided to just forego the morning in DL and go in together instead for one more ride on RSR and we finally got on Luigi's Tires (it broke down periodically on Sat or had a 70-90 minute wait so we didn't do it the day before).

What's the Market House?

It's on the right going up Main Street near East St.

Not sure when they will begin the transformation but I can assure you Al was spot on with that info. :)

Except when he was wrong before, and wrong before that, and wrong before that, and wrong before that. Seriously if he was spot on SB would be being served all over the resort before it made it into BVS.

Never said Al was right all the time. His sources tell him things and he reveals when he is confident they are correct. Many times the info is correct but it changes or is scrapped. Starbucks, at one point, was going in everywhere, but that changed. The Market House location for Star Bucks is going to happen, according to the current plan.

But WHAT is it? Thanks!

Well it is kind of hard to describe. They sell coffee, tea, bottled drinks, fudge and dill pickles. Also they have a lot of kitchen/household oriented souvenirs. There is a giant pot-bellied stove and it is setup to look like an old fashioned general store, I think.

Okay, now I recognize it - I just didn't know the name. We often go through the stores without looking at the name outside. Thanks!

Sure of course I know that. I have friends from Texas to Australia who has Aps. My very first AP, I was living in Asia at the time, so I know that all too well.

But the point is the vast majority of APers and who this was designed for live within a few hours of the resort. Most from SoCal. THOSE are the people this was designed for. And as you said yourself, week days arent convient for most of them which is probably why there arent so many takers now.

Although rereading Al Lutz statement it sounds like people ARE registering...they just arent showing up lol. I think many are just signing up early so they have a spot JUST IN CASE but when the day comes just decide not to do it or dont want to roll out of bad at 5:30 a.m. lol. And I think others have probably went before their EE dates and didnt think they needed to do it anymore after they got their fill.

So its probably a lot of factors happening. Most probably just not signing up in general because of the inconvience and restrictions. And the others who do sign up just dont show up later on because they get busy or already been.

And just how do you know this "for sure?" Disney has not released any information (that I have seen) on a Disneyland (Park) Starbucks location.

Exactly. :thumbsup2

Yes, this please! :thumbsup2 That would be a great idea, while the posted rumor bums me out a bit.

DH and I are doing our DCA APEE Sunday morning and our DL APEE Monday morning. Hopefully it will still be just the APers.

Just tried to sign up for DCA APEE this Sunday but the website is saying it is not available. Saturday is, but not Sunday.
