APEE faltering so EMH to DCA every day this summer for Disney hotel guests?

That is an Al Lutz rumor he posted this morning...

http://miceage.micechat.com/

EDITOR’S NOTE 7/9: This summer's offer for Annual Passholders to have an exclusive early entry into DCA at 7AM has found few takers. For every 1,000 that reserve a date on the AP website, only a few hundred actually show up. But the tourists staying at the hotels, who happen to spend much more per day on food and merch, are chomping at the bit to get into Cars Land every morning. So Cars Land will soon begin offering seven day per week early entry privileges for anyone staying at Disney's hotels. The few APs who do show up will now be meshed in with the tourists from the hotels each day until the AP offer expires in September. - Al Lutz

Sounds good to me. :)

This doesn't really surprise me. At some point too early just becomes too early for most people. And I'm sure it's way easier for on-site guests to get up and walk to the parks than for AP holders to drive through CA traffic, park and get in line early for park opening. Only the hardy ones need apply....

Makes me want to go before September!!! Wish it were doable in the schedule....

That would be awesome! We are arriving on a Friday and will be itching to get into Carsland-waiting for Monday would be hard! I'd love to be able to go there on Sunday!

Is this immediate? I usually avoid summers at DL and booked a trip specifically because of the APEE benefit. Supposed to be at DCA this Sunday and DL in Monday. Hoping I can get better info here than if I called guest services today.

Well, poo on me! I only have 2 days in August and staying offsite so I was definitely showing up for APEE.

Interesting, yes most of DCA was a dream the day we used our APEE. It certainly didn't feel lightly attended back in Cars Land though, and I'm assuming that's where most folks with EE will be heading, whether they're AP holders or onsite guests. I'm certainly glad we used ours before this change took place.

BTW, I was surprised at how many people chose to spend their entire hour waiting in line to get a RSR FP. We all enjoyed the park together and then sent a runner to the FP line a few minutes before rope drop and that worked out great.

This is a rumor. Al Lutz does not work for Disney. IMO his rumors are more reliable than most other rumors, but they are still rumors. If and when Disney announces this then we will know.

Well if this change is before the end of next week it will certainly change my game plan. I think I will be happy with riding all the CL rides once, checking out the neon lights at night, and then focusing in on everything else there is to do in the parks. At this point I'm just hoping to be able to get a FP for RSR on one of the days of our trip, and then not worrying about it anymore. I guess the best day to try for now is when just the resort guests have EE, and not when both the resort guests and the APers have EE...assuming this happens. If they do change this soon, there really won't be much time to see how this affects things before our trip at the end of next week. Hmmm...guess I'll just stay tuned to the DIS to see what and if this happens! :surfweb:

I hope they don't end up doing this. We're scheduled to visit just after the APEE ends, but I was still looking forward to being able to do the jump back and forth for my first park of the day thing (avoiding whichever park had EE) in order to at least have a fair chance at a short wait for RSR. If they really do what he's saying, then onsite folks would have the choice of two parks to enter at 7 am on some days. Would this have precedent? I mean, does WDW run extra hour perks in two parks simultaneously?

Well, I hope not but I have a feeling this may come to pass. I was just starting to form a plan that involved lighter EE crowds on the APEE days. Everytime someone said they got on something with a shorter wait when they didn't have any sort of EE I asked what day and it was always a Tue or Th. I am still hoping to get an APEE, but can't try until I'm there. I was thinking Tues and Thurs would be good days to start at DCA if I didn't get the APEE. If this does happen, it seems like those days could be worse.

Tonight between 10pm and midnight, DHS will be open with EMH and the MK will also be open. So they have multiple parks open while at least one has EMH perks.

And during busy times like the Christmas week, they have multiple parks (MK and one other) with simultaneous 8am-9am EMH Morning perks almost every day:

Interesting note ... on December 28th, the Magic Kingdom opens at 7am. Nice.

Another one who hopes this isn't true. We renewed our AP just to get the APEE in August. We are staying at GCV, so if we didn't need an AP to get the benefits, we would have bought a different ticket. -- Suzanne

I'm glad I did my APEE on Saturday! It seemed well attended to me. However I did DLEE this morning and I counted about 75 people at 7am. It was a dream by the way. Rode Pan, Snow White, Toad, Matterhorn, Alice, Space twice, Star Tours, and Buzz before 8am.

We are staying at the Grand for the first time ever in October so I am hoping that there is some sort of EE for onsite guests into Carsland. We also have AP's so there's that also if they extend this offer.

I know no one knows, but what do you think the chances are that hotel guests will continue to receive some kind of early entry past September -specifically Thanksgiving weekend? Although I really don't want to be leaving the hotel at 6-something... but it would be better crowd wise if I stay on site....

According to the may 25th Disney parks blog (sorry I 'm new here and don 't know how to link it) there is no end date for EMH for hotel guests. Its not in the main article, but the question was asked in the comment section ans was answered by Erin Glover, . Also the disneyland website shows an end date for the APEE but does not for the EMH

I hope it's not true for DCA. I just scheduled my AP-EE for 8/25 (saturday) for DCA.
