Friends of ours who are new dvc members asked me a question that I cannot answer. Does someone have this answer for me.

On their dvc contract it is Mom and Dad with 3 adult children {the adult children live at different addresses with their spouses and children}.

From what I can see - It says immediate family are eligible all at the same address? Maximum 8.

Who is eligible for the Annual Pass with the DVC discount?

Mom and Dad? Or is everyone eligible {with their spouses and children} even though they all reside at different address than Mom and Dad?

Thank you for any info you can provide.

~Mary

Their adult children must have identification that shows they reside at same address as parents, otherwise not eligible for this discount. As that is not the case, they are not eligible sorry.

Thank you for the quick response.

So basically the 3 adult children are DVC members just with booking privileges?

It depends on how those adult children are listed. Are they on the deed as purchasers or on the contract as associate members? If they are on the deed as purchasers, they are entitled to full member benefits. If they are associate members, they can only make reservations.

So if they are on the deed they are "full members"?

Can you be a full member and not live at the same address as everyone else?

Yes, fully deeded members can reside at different addresses, as they should each have a blue membership card.

If they are not deeded members, but are associate members, then they are only basically "point managers" for their parents and can not get the AP discount, and should not receive a DVC Membership card.

Thank you so much for all of your help!

I tried 'turning them on' to Dis but they rarely turn on a computer. They ask me and when I don't know, I turn to my DIS Friends.

Thanks again!

This is exactly like ours. Our contract(s) have me and hubby and adult daughter all listed as owners. We live at different locations. Both me and DH get the discounts, and adult daughter and her spouse and children get the discounts. This is exactly why I did it this way. We have been owners only 4 years and it's not a problem. She gets all the literature that we get, plus she gets all bonus gifts we get too (like the anniversary artwork). So OP...if the adult kids are owners they too will get blue member cards and will be eligible for everything too.

Thank you. Our Friends are new DVC Members and the adult children, I have just found out, ARE on the Deed and do have the blue membership cards.

They are really good people who love WDW- I believe they have been to the world over 30 times. This is their first trip with the whole family but they weren't sure who could take advantage of what discounts. Chuck and I being the sole members of DVC AND the only people in our household could not answer their questions.

So Again - Thanks to all for your very wise answers! MY ALL KNOWING DIS FRIENDS!

Maybe eventually I can even get them to the boards!
