We just received our AP exchange certificates in the mail. I was under the understanding that the AP is valid for one year from the date of 'FIRST USE". According to my letter the AP begins once you exchange your certificates. Since we plan on going back to Disney next year near the same time I want to make sure that our AP doesn't expire on us during our stay next year. Does anyone know when AP clock begins?

The clock will begin when you exchange your certificates for the actual AP. You can do this at the time of your "first use" by just going to the AP window at the first park you're going to be visiting!

The AP's first day is the day you exchange the vouchers to get the AP. You should not do this exchange until the day you are ready to go into the parks and use it.

The AP's last day is the "same date next year". This actually gives you 366 days (367 if Feb. 29 is spanned) although if you renew at a discount, the renewal is just for 365 (366) days.

Inspect the AP to be sure no mistakes were made in setting the start date.

Speaking of renewal AP's. if I want to renew our AP for the following year when do I have to do that and do they begin where my previous AP let off for experation. Another words if my AP that I just revieved expires March 8, 2005 and I renew it does the renewed AP automatically expire March 8, 2006. Or will it expire the year from the first date I exchange it.

If you do the AP renewal, the new AP activates as soon as the old one expires.
