Hello all and Happy Friday!

We upgraded our tickets in June to APs since we're coming back in December. We're planning to eat out a lot more in December so we want to buy a TIW card.

So, here's the dilemma/question:

We are planning a June trip that may or may not fall under the AP dates. We won't be renewing then, but will wait and buy another AP in January 2011 so we can get 3 trips out of it - late January, June, then sometime Oct - early January. If we renew in June, the dates are too early to get 3 trips out of it the next time. Anyway - that's not the reason for my question.

If our APs expire in June, will the TIW card we buy in December also expire? Do you show your AP when you use your TIW card? I tried to read online info on this, but if I missed it - sorry. If it's only good for one trip, we may not bother.

Thanks,

I believe the TiW expires a year later, on the last day of the month you bought it. So if you bought it on December 4, 2010 it would expire on December 31, 2011. When I used it in January and September, I was never asked for my AP. But friends who used their TiW during Christmas week were asked for their APs every time. I assume it depends on how busy the parks & restaurants are.

TIW doesn't expire with your annual. It will expire about 13 months from the date you purchase it.

I have never been asked for an AP when using TIW. I've been asked for ID, but not the annual pass. I suppose it is possible they asked for the AP to assure that the person who held the TIW is at the table, but I don't think you MUST have an active AP on you to use it; you just need one to purchase the membership.

You just need it to make the purchase. The AP expiration will have no effect on the TIW--it's use or it's expiration.

Should add that tho we always have our AP and ID with us when we dine, we have NEVER once been asked for ID at any WDW restaurant in order to use TIW.
Could it be my honest face????
