A few firsts for our December trip (13th - 23rd):

First time at Disney during Christmas time
First time as an AP holder
First stay at BCV

My question is: "Is the MMCP (or whatever it is) worth the extra $$?"

My first response to my own question was yes, because we've done the Halloween thing and loved it - mainly being able to hop on all the rides without much lines and getting a full 8 hours in at a park. Loved the costumes, parade, etc, etc.

But now we're going to be AP holders so the maxing of park hours doesn't really apply...so is the "party" worth it???

Thanks! Oh yeah, family of 5, kids 7,6,5 years old who have no issues staying up to midnight!

We liked it, I loved the snow on main street and the hot coco, yet one time was enough for us. :cool1:

Another once is enough vote. Too crowded to be much fun for us.

Ehhhh, I didn't think so. When we did it two years ago, it was SUPER crowded, and the lines were bad with no fast passes, so that was a downer. The REAL value was in the extra special Wishes display that night! They had fireworks that went off all around you in a circle, and THAT was the coolest effect I have ever seen! I sure wish all Wishes shows were like that!

I really like MVMCP - love the shows and parade and fireworks. I usally go during the week near the first of December so it is not too crowded then. MNSHP is just okay for me, but maybe it's because I go with a group during Christmas, and it's so much fun.

If you have an AP you can go earlier during the day. Since the park closes earlier that day it is usually not as crowded. I do most of the rides during the day and do the special stuff at night.

When the last 2 years and planning on going this year also. We have a great time there.

We bought the AP last Dec. after we had already purchased the MVMCP tickets for, if memory serves me right, the 2nd Thurs of the month. It was wonderful but, far more crowded than I had expected. Glad we took the "day" off & went to DTD for few hours, somewhat rested to tackle the park that evening.

This isn't deterring us from attending MNSSHP though this Oct.; think it'll be different tone, especially w/Villian parade.

I've gone 4 times and enjoyed it each time. Crowd size varies as to when you attend. A Thursday or Sun evening has been the best time for us, unless it is the week before Christmas. Also, if you are at WDW early in the month of Dec, it may be the only way you get to see the Christmas parade. I believe early in Dec they only do the parade during regular hours on the weekend and not on weekdays, or at least that was how it was when we went.

Quite honestly, for us it is not worth it if you have an AP.

We usually had APs, and avoided it. Then a few years back we were AP-less, so we finally went. I was glad we did, totally worth it under those circumstances. But with an AP, no, not worth it.

If this is your first Christmas experience, believe me, you will be seeing enough. Then you can look forward to MVMCP for another time!

I hope it is magical for you and the family :thumbsup2 .

I'm an AP holder and I go to Disney every Oct or Dec or BOTH so I can go to MNSSHP and/or MVMCP.

I think its so worth it. Its magical and fun. My kids LOVE it too.

If I were done in WDW Oct or Dec I wouldn't miss the parties for the world.

I am an AP holder. Last year was the first time in YEARS I missed the Christmas Party. I love it.

However, I go for the shows, the parades, the snow, the atmosphere. If you are on a ride frenzy I don't know. (Although late in the evening the lines are pretty short since lots of families start giving up. It's a very late night for a toddler, but folks do it)

Now, I have done the Halloween Party twice. Probably won't do it again...

We did it last year the Sunday after T-Day and I would NOT do it again. Crowds were BRUTAL and to move from one end to the park to the other was a disaster. Save your money!

Went to the Christmas Party last year the Mon or Tues after Thanksgiving. Crowds were not terrible and we had a good time. Having said that, we liked the Halloween party better because of all the candy! That is a fun night!

I went in December o4 on a Friday night, 2 weeks before Christmas. I'm not a big "parade person," but I LOVED the parade. The crowds were horrendous and it NEVER let up. AT some point I'll try again--not near a weekend.

I went last year although it was crowed I did enjoy myself. I went for the shows mostly not so much the rides. I did get to go on some rides in between . The effect of snow on main street and Holiday wishes is not to be missed. I am going again this year for the second time.
