AP Upgrading Question

So I have a Socal Select. And I want to go to disney on a blackout date.
Rather than just pay the thirty dollars I was hoping i could Just upgrade to the next one, Which Is a blackout day as well. So I was wondering if I upgraded would They let me in for the day like they would if you bought a pass on a blackout day?

Probably not. You're still upgrading to a pass with blackout days, including the one you want to go on.

You have to buy a blackout pass to get in, but you can then use that blackout money you paid towards your upgrade. That's what the CM who sold us ours said anyway.
