AP Upgrade Question

We currently have unactivated Gold APs which we bought with our blue card benefits. We are needing to upgrade our APs from Gold to Platinum due to our Christmas reservations.

Through a hotel package we also have unused 2 day park tickets that we bought with a hotel stay on a visit we did on cash. I just wanted to confirm that we could go to guest services at a park before entering and upgrade our APs using the 2 day park tickets? If the 2 day park tickets were more than the upgrade fee will they issue a refund?

note, with the park reservation system, you probably need this resolved (if at all possible) over the phone so you can have enough park reservations before you arrive.

Upgrading to an Annual Pass (AP)
An upgrade to any level of Annual Pass follows basically the same rules as any other upgrade of MYW tickets.
You cannot combine the value of more than one ticket in order to upgrade to a singe new ticket or AP.

The notable exception to this is if you have both a MYW ticket and a used water park ticket,
these can be combined, along with additional money, for upgrading to a Platinum Plus AP.“

Hmmm... I seem to remember reading threads of people upgrading their APs using other tickets and getting a refund. Anybody have experience trying this?

I haven't heard of people using two forms of ticket media to upgrade to a third form of ticket media.

All I have heard is upgrading a single ticket to a higher status, not using another ticket to do the upgrade. I think you will still have the other ticket left after you upgrade the Gold Pass. You'll have to pay for the upgrade in cash.
