Can you upgrade a discounted ticket to an Annual Pass? Do they bridge? I have a 30% off offer for 6 tickets I was thinking of using in October. On undercover tourist it shows the one day one park gate price as $116 before taxes (not sure if that's current). It is off the gate price. Just wondering if I decide to upgrade my ticket to a power pass or preferred pass--would buy the discounted one first if it saves money. Not sure if they will only take into account what I actually paid for the ticket or the value of the ticket (bridging). We let our preferred passes go in January, so now looking at buying new APs this October. Most likely only one preferred pass for the future parking fee.

i can't answer your question but i did a search and found quite a few threads about bridging

use the search button and put in bridging tickets to read thru them.

i saw two decent threads regarding bridging but they were from last month.
one of them was:

When might APH prices go up next? (or is it better to bridge?)

the other ones had some info in them also.

hopefully someone will post and be able to answer your question completely.

to answer part of your question, yes, UO will bridge from tickets to AP

What kind of ticket are you upgrading? Where are they from?

I would be buying a ticket at the gate, so the gate price for a 1 day, 1 park ticket. I have a 30% off offer for up to 6 tickets that Universal Studios rep sent me in January after some feedback I sent in and a phone call from them to me.

Okay. Those tickets should be upgradeable with no problem. They would credit you gate value for them in your upgrade, I would imagine.

Agree
All tickets are upgraded except for complimentary or free tickets

So along these same lines... I was looking at UCT 2-day get free third day tickets. They are $226. 3 day tickets on universal website are $229. If I buy the ones from UCT and try to bridge them so I get APs it doesn't seem there would be a significant savings? Anyone know?

I hate to ask a silly question but what does bridging a ticket mean?

When peeps have park tickets and want to upgrade to AP or to add another day / park to present tickets, they pay the difference it costs to make the change

Bridging is when UO gives you credit for present price of the ticket towards the AP

If you bought the park tickets at a 3 rd party vendor they were cheaper than UO cost

UO allows you the full cost of tickets when you upgrade so you end up saving money
Bridging tickets is what we call that process

But I think the UCT price includes the tax while the Universal website price is before tax, which would add another 6.5% to the cost difference. Still not a huge difference but it does widen the spread between them a bit.

I bought my 3 day park to park tickets from UCT and will be upgrading one to a Power Pass annual pass for the hotel discounts. I'm hoping the full gate value will apply so I'm just paying a $10 difference for much more value in hotel savings.

Also remember there is a $20 difference between online and gate prices of multiday tickets. So the gate price of the 3 day ticket would $249 + tax. So, you're looking at $23 + savings.

Ok so this makes sense. The gate price is more than the online price so in effect there will be some savings if I book in advance for UCT! Thank you!
