AP upgrade help!!

Also FP do not instantaneous disappear (it takes a day or so after the ticket is removed from the profile). So after you transfer the ticket you could reassign the FP to the other "you" in MDE.

I've tried to look up transferring booked FPs to other guests, but I have not found how that can be done.

Oh wow I can teach Robo something-this is an exciting day ;)

You simply go into the MDE app (assume it is the same for website but I never use the website) and click on the fast pass you wish to change. At the bottom of the screen it will say Fast Pass Party (number of guests on the fast pass) and change party in blue. Click on change party and you can essentially reassign the fast pass to another guest listed on your MDE account. This is also how you can add or delete people from a given fast pass reservation if plans change. Obviously adding is subject to availability but it has always worked for me to simply sub out one person for another. Also I use the apple MDE app so it could look slightly different for android (I haven't played with the android app a lot but I know the main screen looks a little different when you go into the app).

Ok, so if I am following correctly, I need to link "personal" me as a friend of "work" me, then transfer and upgrade the ticket from "work" me to "personal" me by calling Disney (Do I just call the same line I call to make a resort reservation?) and then I should be able to transfer the fastpass that "work" me holds to "personal" me who is now "work" mes friend? And then, change my name to Sybil? (Ok, joking on this last part!)

Thanks for all of the info...I have never had an annual pass before, but now that i am traveling more frequently it makes sense. When I was going just 1x each year for a week, it was still less expensive to be a 7 day parkhopper than an annual pass.....clocking upwards of 16 days this year! Exciting!!

You don't have to call anybody.
Make sure both of your accounts are "invited/friended" to each other, so you have access to both from one account.
Then, you can just open up the tickets on your "work" account and transfer the ticket to your "personal" account.

Oh wow, ok! I didn't realize I could do that, I can "upgrade" the ticket from it's current status to an annual pass.....and it will only affect my personal ticket, not the ticket for the other people traveling with me?

Each guest's tickets can be treated individually.

Right after you move the ticket (according to the post from CMNJ,) you can transfer the FPs over to your "personal" me account.

(The thing about this that I don't understand is that, according to FP info, booked FPs are not supposed to be transferrable.)

I hear what you are saying Robo but it definitely works. The change party feature may be simply be intended to allow you to add or delete guests from your fast pass party but it absolutely works to sub out people too. Perhaps it is a loophole and Disney will correct it? I just thought it was more so if a family needed to change who was going on what ride they could switch fast passes without the need to switch magic bands (which seems pretty common from what people post here)

One more detail you might want to verify is that your ticket is able to be upgraded. By that I mean I saw you said you have the ticket for a trip you are chaperoning. Regular disney tickets can definitely be upgraded to APs but sometimes certain discounted group tickets can be excluded. If it is a special group ticket that is eligible (but was sold at a significant discount by Disney) be aware that you will not be getting the regular gate price toward your upgrade but what you actually paid.
Upgrades to an AP usually must be done in person (at guest services or a ticket window) but if you have some type of package (hotel and tickets together) I'm not sure if they can upgrade you over the phone.

I think you might be correct about this.....I logged into my MDE and it says that the tickets are not transferable, and when I click on the little information bubble it says this: "Paperless Tickets that are expired, in-use or that were purchased as part of a package cannot be assigned to anyone else. Only the owner of a ticket may assign it to another Guest." The tickets are part of package, we are not discounted as a group because we are under the 10 student minimum, but we do have one of the promotions (maybe more fun and sun?) We do it this way so we can purchase the dining plan to have it all inclusive for the students. Will I be able to upgrade at the desk when we check in before we visit the parks? We arrive in the mid afternoon and we are taking the students to Chef Mickey for dinner before heading to the Magic Kingdom.

1. Not a problem in what you want to do.
2. Not a problem in what you want to do.
3. IF you the owner, that's good.
4. So far, so good.
5. So far, so good.
It sounds like you can upgrade. Hope so.
6. You cannot. The resorts cannot do anything in regard to APs.
You can do the upgrade right outside the MK gates at #9 on the map below.

this made me giggle....you can do the upgrade at #9 = Guest Relations & Restrooms Didn't know that was an option in the restrooms! Good to know! LOL! : ) : ) : )

Unused package tickets are "non transferrable" before the trip date. Once you check in you can transfer an unused ticket to your other self.

I had the BEST experience from a CM at Guest Relations on my AP upgrade at the in-park Guest Relations desk at MK. She was "earning her ears" but had the blue name tag. She transferred from custodial. Her trainer and she executed the upgrade flawlessly - including price bridging (he even showed her how to bring it up to gate price and note it in the system) and credited the memory maker cost to our AP's (showed her how to do "floating cash" as he called it).

We were her first AP upgrade and I was excited for her that it went flawlessly. She got an awesome comment card from us and I hope she has a bright future in Guest Relations. The young man who was her trainer did an outstanding job as well. It was some of the best service I've ever had from Disney!

I appreciate all of the help from each of you, thanks! I actually went ahead and called the MDE Tech support this morning, and we worked everything out merging both accounts onto my personal account, and then setting up my work persona as a "friend" of my personal self . . .the ticket, all of the fastpasses+ booked and meals booked on BOTH accounts are now attached to my personal account, and my personal family members and work "friends" are appropriately tagged and accounted for. I should not have any issues with upgrading when I arrive on the 4th AND keeping all of the reservations tied to both accounts! Woot!! I'll update you when the time comes!

Thanks again!
