AP upgrade experience starting with UT 2+2 expiring tickets

Makes sense. Not sure how one can really argue it as they, nor disney, are obligated to bridge the price of any tickets bought thru a 3rd party other than what was actually paid. :confused3 It's certainly nice when it does happen though:) but with the new expiry system rolling out, may become a thing of the past.

I'm surprised the seasonal pass still is entitled for onsite hotel discounts. Seems as though the parks are tightening their belts.
I purchased the tickets, both the 2+2 and the seasonal AP directly from Universal. I totally agree with you about the seasonal AP and hotel discounts! Tha't the only reason why we purchase them, saves us a lot of money.

Ah, i get your point.

Will say in the past i had a one day tix bought via ticketmaster thru an affinity organization at quite the discount. Turned out to be non upgradeable. No amount of fast-talking would make it work.

People really need to be careful what they are purchasing if hoping to upgrade.

Reposting this from another thread just for the data point, I didn't mention there but the ticket had an expiration in November 2017:
I got a 2 park 2+2 pass from UT on Cyber Monday for $250.26
Ticket said 2 park 4 day PTP Adult SC
3/29 Outside Guest Services Maria (who took a 10 minute phone call while working with me o_O ) said because I had bought my ticket somewhere else, I only got the $235 the vendor paid for it and it would be $70 to upgrade to a seasonal pass. I said no thanks and left.
3/29 Inside Guest Services (forgot his name) gave me full value of $304.99 giving me a $21.30 refund and my daughter's seasonal pass (which still cost $150 more than if she had upgraded in October with the rest of us, but she discovered she loves roller coasters *after* we left FL in October without her riding a single ride then....but I'm not bitter ;) ). She may never use it, again, but at least we got a little money back :)
