After 17 years as an AP holder, I'm considering a "regular" 6 day ticket for the next trip. I just don't think I'll be going again this year (but never say never). My first question is how does it work when "activating it. With my AP, I used to have to go to the ticket window at a park. With regular tickets, does it just activate when I scan my MB at park entrance? I hope so-that would be one advantage-no taking extra time to activate it. I don't expect to do more than one park a day, so I don't foresee it as a problem that I'd be losing that benefit. At my age, I really don't have the stamina for more than one park per day anyways. I'll lost AP discounts at restaurants, but since I'm DVC and most restaurants that give the AP discount also give a DVC discount, I don't foresee that as a loss either. Any other AP "perks" I'm giving up? A regular park ticket will save me more than $200 over an AP. Any other "perks" I'm giving up that I may not have considered yet?

4. A regular park ticket will save me more than $200 over an AP.

1. No activation is needed.
2. Yes.
3. If you change your mind, you can upgrade to ADD the ParkHopper feature even during your trip.
4. That $200 will be a pittance if you later decide that you WANT to do another trip within the same year.

You will have to buy your photos if you don’t have the AP ( if that is of interest to you)

No free parking at the parks (unless this is a DVC perk too?) and no free/included memory maker photos.
