Yes, I know this question has been asked over and over, but I need to know the answer before I purchase my tickets

AP passes expire one year from the activation date, not the purchase date. Is that correct? I would hate to make that mistake.

Thank you all for answering a question that has been asked many times, but I know others are concerned about it too.

I didn't know until I asked either.:)

I actually emailed guest communications I was so concerned and they replied that the passes need to be activated and the clock starts on activation and not purchase.:)

Thank you so much! That put my mind at ease. I always try to get in as many trips to Disney as I can during the year that I have AP's. However, as I get older I can't remember the rules from one year to the next.

Thanks for the fast reply. I plan on purchasing my passes today at the Disney store.

The original AP's you buy start from date you first use them at the parks or pick them up at the park's ticket window. If you renew annually, the renewal AP starts when prior one expires.

If you purchase the AP in advance from TDS, 407-WDISNEY, or online you will get a voucher that needs to be exchanged at Guest Relations at WDW for the actual pass. The AP in this instance will begin on the day you do the exchange.

If you purchase your AP in person anywhere at WDW, at the Disney Info Center in Ocala, at either Orlando airport shop, or at several Orlando Disney-operated warehouse outlets, you will get the actual activated pass that will start the day you buy it.
