AP Room-Only Release Date for Stays After June 6

I'm waiting too. We are doing a split stay, 5 nights at POP and hopefully four nights at WL. We've already booked POP because we wanted to get a preferred room location. It's killing me to keep waiting for some AP rates for other resorts.

Well, I live in Orlando. :rotfl2: But I have a friend visiting at the end of June so we both were going to make it a WDW vacation for us both! We were going to do 5 nights at the Poly. But for rack rate, we will just stay at my house and drive to the parks every morning. Its only 25 miles. But usually like 35-40 minutes on the famous I-4! :thumbsup2 But it would be nice even for me to get away for a few days. So I'm hoping for an AP or even FL Res rate!! Hopefully this coming Wednesday!

What is the "Tikiman" rate :confused3 ? Inquiring minds want to know ::yes:: ...

agnes!

A group rate via Magical Vacations travel agency for the Poly, Beach Club and Boardwalk. It includes CL rooms in some cases as well. You can find more info on the TA site. It worked well for me because I could still save quite a bit for CL while splitting my stay between 2 resorts (which I couldn't do on the 4/3 deal).

So while were waiting for this magical AP rate to come out(hopefully this Wednesday) anyone have a guess on the dates it will include and some general idea on what the values, mods, and deluxes will be priced at?

I am waiting too! I need June 27th... Staying as a DVC member 6/28 -7/6. Would Love to stay at POR! :thumbsup2

Oh my goodness the waiting is killing me. It's time for the discounts to be out already!!! :)

I already have the free dining package booked but since its just me and my son we don't always eat that many table services. So if room only comes out and I can do the trip cheaper I'm gonna rebook.

So come on discounts...I need a Disney planning fix. Crunching the numbers will cover me until the 17th when I can do my ADRs!

:lmao:

I can't tell you how disappointed I was this morning. My trip is a month away and now I think I'm just going to book off site.

Well no codes today I guess. I am sad! I need to pay off my 4/3 package today. So the bad news is I won't have an AP this year. :sad1:

But the good news is Royal Caribbean is having a Wow sale today so I guess I'll cruise for my Nov Birthday trip! :dance3:

I wanted the AP to go to the Food and Wine Festival in Nov but I gotta go with who is giving the best deals for the money. I love both so it is all good.

Really too bad for Disney cause I really like to fit in extra trips with that AP. Would have done Nov., then again next summer and anytime the air fare would allow. ;) Oh well. They don't really care - they have plenty of people. Thanks for letting me fuss about it though.

I agree. Disney would be wise to promote their APs more. I went 4 times last year, from Colorado, I might add, and it was only because I got an AP. Before that I only went once every 2-3 years. I let my AP expire this time but will buy another one if the AP code comes out for our June trip. If we get an AP we will probably be back in the fall. Otherwise, it will be at least another year or 2 before we go again. Actually this upcoming trip was only suppose to be a Universal trip but we tagged on Disney. But it looks like historically they do not announce APs till around the 7th of May on a Wednesday, so I remain hopeful that Disney will see the benefit of repeat trips that AP holders, especially from other states, increase return visits and a lot of onsite money spent. I know other AP holders from Florida repeat visit but they may not need to stay on Property. Also, I REALLY REALLY want to upgrade resorts but don't want to risk it now just in case they don't have any AP codes for June:duck:...

Now I need July 11th at the AP rate. Please Disney!:lovestruc

Tomorrow has to be the day for the deals, don't you think???:wizard:

I'm thinking they won't release until Thurs or Fri. The Springtime roomrate deal offered to the public on the website says "book through May 6" so they aren't going to change the website until Thurs. or possibly Fri. morning. I am hoping they offer something like the springtime deal to the general public for the summer months. Availability seems high, so I think something good will be coming along.

You're right -- availability really does seem pretty high. I just checked (for the first time) on some dates for July and August and everything that we're interested in is still available. I was actually surprised at how easy it was to find a room.

If they do release AP rates, then we'll probably go. Otherwise, I'll wait to go back. :confused3

Can anyone tell me what % off the deluxe rates they offered for July & August 2008? Wondering what it might be for 2009...

If not, can someone point me in the right direction as to where I can view the historical discounts for AP rates in summers past?

Don't know which Deluxe you are targeting, but if you scroll down on this blog page you will see the prices from last year:

I just called to book RPC at GF and they are wide open. Sad really! :sad2:

This time last year I had to change things all around to make it work.
I may ride the wave until the end of the week and see if a better rate hits! :cool1:

I'm hoping for tomorrow...but, if it doesn't happen tomorrow...it should be sometime soon.

The rates were released May 6th last year...but, the dates for those rates actually started on May 26th. So, that was only 20 days before the first "eligible stay" date. If that were the case this year, the date for release would be 5/18/09 for 6/7/09 start.

As for predicting the price, here's my opinion:

Value - The difference between the Spring 2009 ($64) and Spring 2008 ($74) AP rates is about 13.5%. Meaning...that this year the AP rate was about 13.5% cheaper than last year's AP rate. So...multiply 13.5% x last year's Summer AP rate ($104) and you get around $82 per night for a standard room. My guess would be $79-$82...somewhere in that range.

Moderate - The difference between the Spring 2009 ($94) and Spring 2008 ($129) AP rates is about 27%. So...multiply 27% x last year's Summer AP rate ($144) and you get around $105 per night. My guess would be $104-$106...somewhere in that range.

The Deluxes are a bit more tricky. Comparing the AP rate for the Spring of 2008 and 2009....the Wilderness Lodge pretty much stayed about the same. Last year, it was $164 on weekdays / $214 on weekends...and this year it was $184 on all days. Last year's Wilderness Lodge Summer AP rate was $199...so, I'm guess this will stay in the same ballpark figure.

The Poly and GF were each about 6.1% to 6.2% lower this Spring than last spring. That would put them at $284 for the Poly and $318 for GF for this summer.

Of course...this is all just "entertainment" math that I did to pass the time while waiting for the Summer AP rate to be released. I'm sure there is not much validity to this math...just something to pass the time.

I know in the past...we usually learn about the AP release afternoon or evening before it happens. Usually, a few AP holders get e-mails alerting them that the rates will be released on the next day and they post this info to the boards. Then, the rest of us get the e-mails a day late after the AP rates were already released :)

Does that mean that the Deluxes that aren't listed didn't have the discount available? Our trip last year was compliments of Disney, so I didn't have to worry about it, but this year we're staying at Boardwalk Deluxe Concierge and I'm afraid it won't be an option for the discount.
