AP Room Discount Q

We booked 2 rooms at the HRH; my question is whether the one AP will give us the discount? Has anyone had experience with the desk asking to see the pass/second pass? I thought I heard somewhere that one AP was good for 3 rooms?

I believe they are pretty good about checking AP's. But you only need to have one Preferred pass to get the good rate.

You can book multiple rooms at the AP rate, not sure how many tho.

Actually, the rule, as I have been told by mgt and as has been reported here many times, is one room per AP. There are exceptions that have been made when the second room is for the minor children of the AP holder.

Although they rarely ask to see your AP, there is the chance that they will. I have had them ask a couple of times to see my AP, but most of the time not. It all depends on the person checking you in. In the event that they do actually ask to see both AP's and you don't have the second AP, your room will revert back to rack rate. However, at that point you could tell check-in that you are going to upgrade one of your tickets to an AP. They will ask you to come back and show the front desk that you secured the second AP and then your rate will be readjusted back to the AP rate. (usually)

Thanks guys! BTW- Is there any specific hotel that might be more or less lenient with asking for the APs? I am trying to save $100 by not buying the second one; but for the stress, I might just buy the AP ...

It is my wife, my son, and me in one room and my sister in law and her two boys in the other. The rooms will be adjoining so we technically could say that the three boys will be in one room and the three adults will be in the other. (BTW- the boys are 14,12, and 8)

That should probably work. If they need a second AP, then you can go to the parks and upgrade then. You just bring it back and show the desk you now have the second AP.

If you say there are three adults in one room, they will charge you extra, so that pretty much defeats that!!!

If they ask for the second AP, I would just say that I didn't know about it but will go and upgrade one of the tickets if they really want the second AP. Just be sweet and innocent and super nice and I'm sure it will all be fine.
