if you renew AP's early do we get some sort of credit towards renewing?

Not sure what you are asking. You can renew 60 day’s prior or 30 days after. The renewal is effective the day after your original pass expired.

No benefit to renewing early, but renewing an AP is cheaper than buying a new one. Having said that...our passes were set to expire on 2/19/18--I renewed early so that I would get the current promotional rate (Platinum Plus renewal at the Gold renewal price--$505+.) That deal ends on 1/3/18. My new expiration date should be 2/19/19. I entered my 'will call' number into MDE and it's in as a 12/31/2030 expiration date until I actually activate my pass at Disney World.

Are you sure it works that way? Looking at April expirations but hoping to renew up to the Platinum Plus but not have it start until at least April - would be great for it to start later.

You can only renew up to 60 days before (and 30 days after) your expiration date, with the 1/3/18 promo expiration date, an April renewal won't work to get the promotional rate. (I think your expiration date would need to be 3/4/18 in order to renew on the last day of the promotion, 1/3/18.) You could buy a new promotional AP and start it at your next trip (anytime before 12/31/18), but it'll be the $595? rate vs. the $505 renewal price.

Yes, thank you - was thinking about it all night. That is what I am going to do. Let the current one expire. Buy the new one today and not activate it until the summer (plans changed

I just renewed my annual pass to get the promotion rate and my expiration date on this annual pass isn't until the fall of 2018 new pass starts the day my current pass expires.
