AP renewals?

I just bought 3 AP's which I'm not activating for at least another year. My question is, when I go to renew those AP's before they expire, can I hold onto to them and activate at a later time like i did with the original one's?

You can either renew an AP and it keeps the current expiration date except for the year- it doesn't matter if it is later in the month but a renewal keeps the same date or you can let an AP expire and then buy a new AP to change the date. You can't get the renewal price and a new date.
