AP Renewal.

I renewed my AP online thru WDW website.
Will I receive anything in mail to show at gates?
I know I can order my new AP MB now but I'm waiting a bit for lots of reasons.
How do I show proof that yes my AP is valid for another year in terms of discounts/parking. My current card shows old expire date as does my discount card.

You need to go to a ticket window or guest relations to activate the renewal. You can just show your ID. You won't get the new Magic Band/Discount card until a few weeks after you activate the renewal at the park. They can print you a physical AP ticket you can use for discounts until you get them.

I didn't receive anything in the mail. I had to go to a ticketing window and show my ID, and they issued me a new AP card. The discount card came in the box with my MB, but that was after my trip. I just showed my AP for the discount.

Ok but it says I can customize/order new MB now under MDE which shocked me as I expected it to be after I activated like you said.

AFAIK, you should not have to "show anything" if you order and get your AP MagicBands before your trip.
When your MB is scanned, it will show as a valid AP.

It's not the getting in park part it's the discount part I didn't understand. So you suggest I order new AP band before I leave?

Yes.
LOOK FOR your new AP ID card (for discounts) that will be included in the box with your new AP MagicBand.
The card can be hard to see in the package.

Robo is correct I've used my current Ap that expires in November for 3 trips. I renewed my AP online so that I could book FP's for upcoming trip which starts 2 days after current AP expires.

Right. When I renewed my AP last October for our trip last November I had to wait until I activated the new AP before MDE allowed me to order a new set of MB. Has something changed?

Well, that's good to know as I'll be renewing in early November for our trip later that month.

Just remember to print at the renewal confirmations and vouchers to show at Guest Relations. Also, if you can, try to pick up your renewed AP before your existing one expires, so you can do it at GR inside the park. Lines are usually shorter, but obviously, that wouldn't be an option if your existing AP has already expired.

I arrive 2 days after my ap expires. I printed out the thingie it gave me but all I have so hope that's all I need

Oh well. Anyways, you probably received individual vouchers combined in a PDF (they usually have Pluto at the top). Those and a valid ID for the adults are all you need.

I understand it's a renewal, I'm an AP holder. I just renewed in January and could not get my next AP Magic Band until AFTER I activated the AP renewal when I went in April. I don't need to talked to like a child.
