AP Renewal date question.

We are going to be renewing out AP's soon. Will the expiration date stay the same no matter when we renew OR will it change to the date you renew them on?

So if our original date is 1/15 and we renew on 12/15 will our new expiration be 12/15 or stay 1/15. We are planing a trip for mid December next year with family and we're trying to decided if we should wait to upgrade or just do it when we are there next month.

Thanks for your help :)

Mine was always Nov 29th until this year when I renewed into a newly created Silver Pass. My date changed to Oct 18th, the day I turned in the voucher. I am guessing that all of the pass changes caused that.

AP renewals carry the same expiration date from year to year. At least that is the official answer. Sometimes (not often) people get lucky and a CM makes an error during the renewal process.

Agree on both counts.

It's one of the few date settings that CMs can manually change during the transaction.
And, many of them input the wrong date. (Great when the guest benefits... Not so much, when the guest's AP length gets "shorted" by days, weeks, or months.)

So when I turned in my vouchers and lost 5 weeks, it was a CM input error? Is this something that can be fixed?

It depends on if you had renewal vouchers or new AP vouchers. In other words, did you pay the renewal price or the brand new price?

I renewed my Annual Pass a week before the new passes were released. I actually downgraded to a Seasonal Pass at that time. I had a voucher for a Seasonal Pass. When renewed, I was given a Silver Pass.

I think I'll just wait until out renewal date so hopefully we don't loose the month!

What YOU do in this regard won't make any difference if the CM who issues the AP makes an error.
No matter when or how you purchase an AP, new or renewal, always check the ANNIVERSARY DATE that you are given at the time.
That's the point that needs to be taken from this whole discussion.

One of the more frustrating CM mistakes is that they will issue an AP with an
expiration date with the wrong year...
meaning that the AP (wrongly) expires on the day that it is
issued. The guest will get only one day's admission.

If you have since discovered that the CM made an error on the date,
you CAN get it corrected at some time during the year of that AP's true validity.
