AP Renew??

So our APs will expire just before our next trip. Does it matter (cost wise) when I renew them?

Price wise, the difference would come if Disney decides to raise ticket prices. If you decide to wait to renew, but they decide to hike prices before you have a chance to do so, you will be stuck paying the higher price. Disney can and will raise prices without notice whenever they see fit, although it has been at the beginning of June for the last 3 summers.
