Right now, we have the GF booked for the end of August using our 40% off PIN. I'm trying to decide if we would get a better rate if I got an AP. I'm going with a friend in July and can easily upgrade my ticket to an AP.

Is it possible to get more that 40% off with an AP?
Does everyone have to have an AP?

TIA

It's not impossible -- but 40% off pin is a pretty good deal. The current AP discount (that stops early June) is 45% off for 4 or more night at deluxe. Hard to tell the odds of that being repeated in August timeframe. Last year I recall my AP discount at deluxe was closer to 30%.

Only one adult AP per room is needed for the discount (and availibility once the discount is announced). Other guests can have other ticket media (but cannot get ticket/room package of any kind if the room is on AP discount).

Yep, it's possible. I booked the GF with a 40% off bounceback code for April, but then AP rates came out Jan 1st so I switched. The AP discount is 45% off. We also upgraded from garden view to theme park view when the AP rates came out. :cool1:

And no, everyone doesn't have to have an AP. There must be one adult AP holder per discounted room.

Actually, that last sentence isn't correct. If the AP holder books a passholder plus dine package, everyone in the room must be on that package as well. It does not matter if only one person has an AP. The others would just buy their tickets separately.

I agree that 40% is as good as you'll likely see. I honestly don't expect 45% for August. You may get that much after Labor Day, but 30% AP rate sounds more likely before Labor Day.

Mousefan,

Good info on dining package. Thanks. :) I don't do dining plans, but I'd hate to mislead others by accident.

How do you book through the passholders part to see the rates. Can you give me a link? I have tried and can't find where to book so that my AP discount will reflect. thanks

Yes, the current AP discount is 45% off through June 3. Although it looks like the Easter week is blocked I priced rooms and there is the discount avail as well (a whole thread on discounts some have rec'd) Just so you know that while you can apply an AP discount the room/type/resort has to be avail for it. We had 2 WL Woods view booked for Feb 5 for a week with the 40% PIN. When the AP rates came out I tried to get the Woods or a Standard room and nothing was ever avail ( I checked most every day since they came out) So we stil have the 40% PIN, just 2 days ago, my daughter paid off her room and the confirm said Court Yard View, I got a new confirm as well (that's when I noticed the room type change). Anyway the point was that the room type was never avail with AP discount for ours. I'm glad because technically now I do have it since our rooms were upgraded! (we really wanted the AP rate of 131/night though since we have the 2 rooms
The worst that can happen is that you get 40% off!! An AP gives other discounts including the TIW card that we are getting as well! (another reason for a trip to WDW, too!)

Believe it or not, value season begins for the deluxe resorts on July 18th!! I think most of the summer crowd (tour groups, for example) tend to stay at the moderate and value resorts. So I really wouldn't be surprised to see 45% off for the deluxe resorts for all of value season, which begins July 18th and ends Sept. 30th.

No problem at all. I've booked the passholder + dine package about half a dozen times, at least, so I have a pretty good handle on it. ;)

Try going to disneyworld.com. In the upper right corner of the home page it says "passholders". Click on that. You will be prompted to enter your AP info. Once you submit that, it takes you to the passholder home page. Then click on "passholder offers". The current room discount offer is the first on listed. Click on it, then scroll down to where it says "book online" Click that, and voila, you have access to the AP rates. :thumbsup2

Yes, if signed onto the AP section and click on the special offer there. The AP rates will show. Once there the screens will look just like the regular ones but be AP rates if available.
